Genshin Impact 2.8 Weapons – Story Quest Weapon, Epitome Invocation Banner

Genshin Impact 2.8 update, Summer Fantasia, will feature a brand new weapon that will play a pivotal role throughout the update's story questline. The community has been wanting more weapons with stats that will be useful after the previous backlash of bringing useless weapons to the game.

Despite no new artifacts and balance changes included in the update, there are still reasons to be excited as Travelers stand a chance to acquire a practical weapon from events and banners. In this guide, we'll look at the weapons to be featured and all the relevant details regarding them in the Genshin Impact 2.8 update.

Genshin Impact 2.8 Event Weapon – Cursed Blade (Sword)

Genshin Impact's 2.8 update will only add one new weapon, the 4-star sword Cursed Blade. This weapon is connected to the update's story questline, which sees the Anemo character, Kaedehara Kazuha, featured predominately.

According to the 2.8 patch notes, Travelers will be able to learn more about this weapon's history through the 2.8 story questline. As far as details go, there's not much available as of writing, but Travelers can start farming Mask of the Wicked Lieutenant, Gloomy Statuette, and Spectral Husk in the meantime.

Regarding its abilities, the wielder can deal AoE DMG equivalent to 180% of ATK and increase their ATK by 15% for eight seconds when summoning the Hewing Gale skill. This can be achieved when performing a Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attack on enemies.

Genshin Impact 2.8 Event Weapon – Epitome Invocation banner

The Epitome Invocation or Weapon Event Wish banner will include six weapons available during the 2.8 update. Travelers can set course along the Epitomized Path to earn the 5-star sword Freedom Sworn and the 5-star catalyst Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds.

Once you've set a course for your preferred weapon and don't receive it, you will receive a fate Point. After earning enough Fate Points, the subsequent 5-star weapon will be the one you've selected through the Epitomized Path.

Additionally, four 4-star weapons will receive drop-rate boosts throughout the update's banner. These weapons are as follows:

• The Alley Flash (Sword)
• Mitternachts Waltz (Bow)
• Rainslasher (Claymore)
• Favonius Lance (Polearm)
• The Widsith (Catalyst)

The event-exclusive weapons Freedom Sworn, Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds, The Alley Flash, and Mitternachts Waltz won't be available through the Wanderlust Invocation banner. The Epitome Invocation banner will be available after the 2.8 update until 2nd August 2022 at 5:59 pm server time.
