Genshin Impact's Thoma: Everything we know so far

With Thoma being officially revealed during Genshin Impact 2.0 Livestream, we talk about his vision, weapon, voice actor and other details.
Thoma, previously called Touma, Tohama, Tohma, or Toemore, was officially revealed during the Genshin Impact 2.0 Livestream along with other characters. During the Livestream, we learned and noticed a few details on Thoma that you should be interested in knowing.

In February 2021, we learned about Thoma for the first time. His name appeared as "Tohama" in one of Kamisato Ayaka's data-mined voice lines.

“Once, Tohama shoved a whole matcha cake in his mouth, only to discover it was too bitter, and spat it out again (laughs).”

However, during the version 2.0 Livestream, the name Thoma was officially confirmed.

With that being said, in this article, we will talk about Thoma's Vision, Weapon, Voice Actor, and how he is related to Kamisato Ayaka.

Everything we know so far about Thoma

Here is everything we know about Thoma, one of the future playable characters of Genshin Impact.

Thoma's vision and weapon

Early leaks on Thoma suggested him as a Pyro vision holder whose weapon of choice was a Polearm.

Moreover, during the Genshin Impact 2.0 Livestream, when the version 2.0 trailer "The Immovable God and The Eternal Euthymia" was playing - players noticed a red gem on Thoma's hip under his hands. Thus we can say Thoma is indeed a Pyro vision holder.

As for Thoma's weapon, based on leaks, he is a Polearm user.

Thoma's voice actor

The Japanese Voice actor for Thoma was officially revealed on July 9, 2021.

Masakazu Morita, a well-known VA who has voiced major Anime characters like "Kurosaki Ichigo" from Bleach, "Shuuji Miwa" from World Trigger, "Ki-ja" from Akatsuki No Yona, and many others, is going to voice Thoma internship Impact.

At the time of writing this article, we have little to no information on the Chinese, Korean and English VA for Thoma.

How is Thoma related to Kamisato Ayaka?

Thoma is the Chief Retainer of the Yashiro Commission’s Kamisato Clan. Moreover, thanks to Ayaka's voice lines and a few other pieces of information, we know that Thoma is close to Ayaka and her siblings.

When asked about Thoma - in her voice lines, Ayaka says, "Thoma is a dear friend. He always lifts my spirits with his sunny disposition. In a sense, I think of him as another brother, and as a full member of the Kamisato Clan".

During Genshin Impact 2.0 Livestream, we learned about Thoma's personality and other details quoted below.

"He's a rather special character. He has blond hair, different from most other Inazuma characters and his identity is naturally a bit of a mystery of its own. In terms of his personality, he's very observant of people — a rather mature companion. Thoma is currently the chief retainer of the Kamisato Clan and has a certain level of association with the Kamisato siblings."

Overall, we can say that Thoma is a mature, kind, and observant companion to Ayaka, whose exact origin is unknown.

Is Thoma a playable character?

According to the leaks, Thoma is a playable character. We do not have official confirmation on it. But, having Thoma as an NPC and not a playable character is unexpected from a gacha game like Genshin Impact.

Recently, Genshin Impact leaker “Sukuna” Tweeted about the rarity of Inazuma characters who were revealed during the update 2.0 Livestream.

According to the Tweet, Thoma is a four-star character, which also unofficially confirms him as a playable character.
