Genshin Impact Theater Mechanicus Stage of Brilliance - How to complete Whither the Wind Wends

The Theater Mechanicus: Stage of Brilliance event comprises four stages, each having two waves that Travelers will need to complete should they wish to claim its rewards. Utilising the mechanic available and the Wondrous Sticks, which should aid you during each battle, there is a chance you can complete each level with a near-perfect score.

Additionally, other unique mechanisms are available in the waves to dispose of your enemies quickly. As such, this Genshin Impact guide will provide all the details for the first stage, Whither the Wind Wends, including stage features, enemy setups and more.

Whither the Wind Wends, the first stage has two waves, namely Show of Force and Enter the Horde. The latter level only unlocks once Show of Force has been completed.

Theater Mechanicus: Stage of Brilliance Whither the Wind Wends – Stage strategy

The strategies for the Show of Force and Enter the Horde waves are vastly different in terms of placement of mechanici and utilising other mechanisms for the waves. For the Show of Force, here's the best placement for the mechanici are the following:

Choose the best slots to build mechanici across the two levels for each wave in the Whither the Wind Wends stage. (Picture: YouTube / WoW Quests)
  • Build the Electro mechanici right to the spawning location and another one pass the bridge on the top level
  • Besides the built Electro mechanici, use the available slot to construct the Anemo mechanici
  • The Banishment mechanici north-west from the second mechanici
  • Head to the bottom level and build the Electro mechanici on either side of a pre-build mechanici
  • Behind the pre-build mechanici, build two Pyro mechanici in both slots

Start the stage and let the mechanici do all the work. The main plan of action is to be on the top level, shifting between the bridges, while the mechanici on the lower level will take care of the enemies.

Once the slime enemies appear, you'll want to use the mechanism to close the bridge, which will drop the enemies below. Once the Ruin Guards and Ruin Grader spawn, you'll need to use the bridge; however, keep in mind there's a cooldown after using the bridge.

Eventually, the Show of Force wave will conclude, and all the points accumulated will be graded as such. You can attain a perfect score by keeping an eye on the top platform and operating the bridges in dropping your enemies.

For the Enter the Horde wave, mechanici placement will be slightly different than the Show of Force wave; however, there are some similarities. The best mechanici placement for this particular wave is as follows:

  • Destroy all the mechanici on the top level, including the two Pyro beyond the first bridge
  • Build two Pyro mechanici on the bottom level on either side of the Banishment mechanic
  • Behind the Pyro mechanici closest to the staircase, build two Electro mechanici on both sides
  • To the right of one of the Anemo mechanici, use the available slots to build two Banishment mechanici, with one being in front of the other
  • Rotate the front Banishment mechanici so that it's facing the portal

Like the Show of Force, you want to remain on the top level, rotating between the bridges. Likewise, the slime enemies will want to attack you as they come up to the top level but use the mechanism beside each bridge to drop them.

You can build an additional Pyro mechanici on the top level if the battle gets too intense; however, you'll need to remain combat-ready should your mechanici needs extra defence. Once all enemies have been disposed of within the time limit, the level will end, and you can claim your rewards from the event page.
