There are hundreds of gaming laptops out there for every price class and every type of gamer. If money is no object and you simply want one of the best gaming laptops available right now, we've got you covered.

We take a look at the five best gaming laptops for 2020 (as of March) and share our thoughts on these beasts with you.

Keep in mind all these laptops come with multiple configurations (we've added a great configuration in each section), so build quality, design style, temperature and additional features have been taken into account. This list is sorted in no particular order.

Razer Blade 15 Advanced Model

If you've been following top gaming laptops for a few years now, you will have seen the Razer Blade.

This sleek, elegant and powerful masterpiece has a few new versions, for example, the Razer Blade 15 Advanced Model, featuring an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q that will blow you away.

The Razer Blade 15 Advanced Model has the same general design as its predecessors (because you don't mess with perfection), with a CNC aluminum chassis. It is thin, weighs in at 2.1kg, and is a testament to the excellent engineering over at Razer.

Check out a suggested configuration for this beast below. While you can get a 4K option, the 1080p at 144hz is easily the best option for gamers to choose, especially if you are into competitive CS:GO

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-9750H

  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q

  • RAM: 16 GB DDR4

  • Storage: 512 GB SSD

  • Screen: 15.6-inch (FHD IPS at 144Hz)

You can also use the Razer Core for further expansion. An alternative to the Razer 15 Advanced model is the Razer Blade 17 Pro, which features a bigger screen at 17.3 inch and a wide variety of options.

Acer Predator Triton 500

The Acer Predator Triton 500 strikes an excellent balance between size and power. There are several different hardware configurations to choose from in the Acer Predator Triton 500 range, but the overall design with the excellent keyboard and trackpad remains the same.

Each of the laptops features an NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics card, with the top of the range one boasting an RTX 2080 Max-Q monster and NVIDIA G-SYNC.

This immensely powerful and beautifully designed laptop weighs in at 2.1kg, with an 81% screen-to-body ratio, and a 17.9mm form factor. Check out a suggested configuration for the Acer Predator Triton 500 below.

Alternatively, if you want to go all out, you can get the Acer Predator Helios 700 range which is bigger and even packs a wrist rest.

Alienware Area-51m

Alienware has always been known for its incredible designs and immensely powerful hardware. If the other devices on this list are beasts, then the Alienware Area-51m is the final boss.

It's not light, weighing in at 3.8kg, and is quite big compared to the Razer Blade. However, it is also the most powerful, with the top-of-the-range model boasting a fully-fledged NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 and a Core i9-9900HK CPU.

It has a 144Hz G-SYNC 17.3-inch Full HD display and eye-tracking technology, making it VR ready. It is fully upgradeable and features a magnesium alloy chassis. Check out the suggested specs if you want to go all out.

If you want a thinner and lighter gaming laptop from the iconic brand, then consider the Alienware m17, which still features a 17.3-inch screen but has an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q Design powering it.

ASUS ROG Mothership

If you are looking for something a bit less crazy but still very powerful and portable from the manufacturer, you can't go wrong with the Asus ROG Zephyrus S

MSI GT75 Titan 8SG

MSI has made some fantastic laptops for all price ranges but the MSI GT75 Titan 8SG is the company's crowning achievement so far.

This beast pulls no punches with the ability to run any game you throw at it on Ultra settings with its full NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080. It has a brilliant design that just screams quality.

It isn't the thinnest or the lightest (weighing in at 4.5kg) as MSI utilized only the most powerful components available. Check out the suggested specs below and keep in mind you can also choose a 4K screen option but with a lower refresh rate.

  • CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K

  • RAM: 64 GB DDR4

If you want something a little bit smaller from MSI, there are a wide variety of MSI Stealth gaming laptops to choose from, for example, the MSI GS75 Stealth which has an RTX 2080 Max-Q.
