Hearthstone Wailing Caverns Druid cards Fangbound Druid, Deviate Dreadfang, and Rogue's Savory Deviate Delight

Blizzard continues with a card revealing session for The Wailing Caverns Hearthstone mini-set, and this time around we got to see new Druid and Rogue cards!

There are only a few days left until the release of Hearthstone's latest expansion, The Wailing Caverns mini-set.

The mini set is an extension of a story from the Forged in the Barrens expansion, and thus we are going to visit the famous Wailing Caverns, located in Northern Barrens.

We've already seen some cards, including the Dungeoneer cycle, and the first two legendaries, Mutanus the Devourer and  Lady Anacondra.

Today, Blizzard has revealed three Druid cards and one Rogue card from the mini-set, so let's check them out.

Although we will only talk about three of them because the fourth is Lady Anacondra, and she was already leaked and we've already talked about her.

Fangbound Druid

We haven't seen Beast Druid support for some time now, but it seems Blizzard hasn't given up on it.

This card offers a lot of value, as it provides good stats for its cost and it has Taunt as a bonus. On top of all that, it also potentially reduces the cost of a beast in your hand.

With this card, it is clear that Blizzard really wants to push the Beast Druid archetype, and there are already some good beast minions available for Druids, like Thickhide Kodo, Teacher's Pet, Twilight Runner, Druid of the Plains, etc.

There are several good support cards as well, including Living Seed, Menagerie Warden, and Shan'do Wildclaw, so we are excited to try out Best Druid when the expansion comes out!

Deviate Dreadfang

Deviate Dreadfang is in a weird spot. The card wants to be played in both Beast and Nature spell Druids, but those two decks have no natural synergy and Deviate Dreadfang simply looks way too expensive for what it offers.

It has terrible stats for its cost, it doesn't even have Taunt, and it is a type of card you will want immediately to combine with something, but it is hard to do that when it cost 8 mana.

All in all, we don't really see this card in any current or future Druid archetype, not for 8 mana, that's for sure.

Savory Deviate Delight

The final card revealed today is called Savory Deviate Delight. It is a 1-mana Rogue spell with a simple task - disrupt the strategy of your enemies and potentially destroy their combo piece.

Mutanus the Devourer and now this, Blizzard cleary wants to keep Combo decks in check, especially cards like Tickatus.

Savory Deviate Delight is essentially the same as Demonic Project, but for only 1 mana. Demonic Project has been played by Warlocks as it was a great counter for Malygos decks and some others, that relied heavily on big combo pieces, so we might see this card being played as well, it all depends if the meta will be dominated by combo decks or not, because this card loses its value against other non-combo decks.

What are your thoughts on these new cards? Are you planning on buying the mini-set? Let us know!

The Wailing Caverns is slated for release next Thursday, 3rd June, at 7 pm CET / 1 pm ET / 10 am PT.
