YouTube superstar and content creator Jimmy "MrBeast" Donaldson recently joined the casting group at the League of Legends Worlds Championship 2022. Both the Worlds 2022 casting group and MrBeast got hands-on experience with the event and discussed various topics regarding the Grand Finals match-up between T1 and DRX.

However, one discussion that stuck out the most was MrBeast confirming that he'd be purchasing a League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) team and competing in the major league in the future to hopefully cleanse the "NA curse."

MrBeast said that he's planning on buying an LCS team in "another one or two years."

The NA curse, also known to many as North American teams always falling short and never making it to the Worlds Finals or Grand Final stages, has been a common occurrence in the competitive scene.

For what feels like centuries, North American groups have never made it past their League of Legends Pro League and League of Legends European Championship competitors. In addition, there hasn't been any North American team that's made it to the Grand Finals alone.

That said, it seems MrBeast wants to be the first individual with an LCS team that can change that, cleansing the dreaded "NA curse" once and for all. On the casting panel at Worlds 2022, MrBeast was asked, "So there have been some rumors. Are you going to buy an LCS team?"

The YouTuber quickly responded, saying, "Oh, gosh. Well, yeah, one hundred percent. The question is more of when [am I going to buy an LCS team]. If we do it, I want to have a team that makes it to a stage like this. We got to get the right pieces in place before we pull out here. It might be another year or two, but one hundred percent [I'm going to buy an LCS team]."

Following this, MrBeast revealed that he'd wanted an LCS team for "three years." But he hasn't ventured into the League of Legends esports scene because he's had "a lot going on." However, MrBeast said that if he did purchase an LCS team, it'd be also to break the NA curse. The content creator explained, "If we do, do it, I just want to find some way to break the NA curse, but I don't know if we've cracked that code yet."

Although the YouTuber didn't give exact details of when fans could expect him to purchase an LCS team, MrBeast did say that it would take another "one or two years" for it to happen. Until then, fans will need to wait patiently for MrBeast to announce the news.
