2024 will be an exciting year for League of Legends, and here is a complete roadmap for the same.

League of Legends Season 2024 is going to be amazing with the release of Arcane Season 2, brand new champions, skins, modes, and more. Apart from this, this year, fans will also be celebrating LoL's 15th birthday, which makes 2024 extra special.

Riot will introduce Arcane-inspired gameplay and characters in the game, along with updates to the Champions Mastery system and much more. You can have a look at everything below.

Arcane Season 2 & Upcoming Champions

Riot will bring Ambessa Medarda champion into the game later this year. Apart from this, Skarner's visual gameplay update will be coming to the Rift in the first half of 2024. You will be able to play Smolder the Fiery Fledgling in PBE on January 9, which will be followed up by Vastayan, a solo-laning, mid-range mage, as the next champion.

Shyvana will also receive a rework, and Acolytelee Sin and Astronaut Teemo will receive ASU.

Upcoming Champions Skins

You can find the details of all upcoming champions skins in LoL in 2024 below:

  • Rammus and Olaf will be getting their skins in 2024 and Rakan, Ezreal, Kindred, Evelynn, and Kayle Prestige skins will be coming in the first half of the year.
  • Lee Sin's skin update will be available to players in early May.
  • Lunar Revel will be the first event of the year and will feature the new skinline Heavenscale and the returning thematic Porcelain. You can find the list of all the skins coming in patch 14.3 and 14.4 below:

    • Heavenscale Ezreal
    • Heavenscale Kai'Sa

  • Other skinlines that will be released in the first half of 2024 are Porcelain, Faerie Court, PROJECT, and Blood Moon. Apart from this, Brolaf, Corporate Mundo, and Dragon Trainer Tristana will receive borders.

Systems Updates & Vanguard

Riot will make improvements in the Ranked matchmaking system to avoid matching players with someone in a vastly different rank. Apart from this, the LP a player loses will be related to LP gained in the new season.

Multiple changes will also be coming to the Champion Mastery system in the first half of 2024, along with brand-new rewards. You can check out our dedicated article to get complete details about it.

Lastly, Vanguard is coming to League of Legends to stop cheating, high number of bots in games, disruptive smurfs in Ranked, and an increase in scripting. If a player is caught by Vanguard, the match will be terminated instantly, and it will refund LP to other players.

Upcoming Modes

Here are the new and returning modes in 2024:

  • Arena will be making a return in the first half of the year with the following updates:
    • The number of teams will increase from four teams of two to eight (for a total of 16 players)
    • Changes to the UI will be made accordingly, and there will be new Augments, maps, and other improvements.
    • URF will be back for Lunar Revel in patch 14.3 and 14.4 and One-For-All after that.
    •  A new mode will release later this year that will be a different take on League core gameplay.
