The famously irate YouTuber bashes the new edition of the Madden franchise after a week full of glitches, errors, and unmatched expectations.
Angry Joe slams Madden 22 Ultimate Team: "This mode has sucked the life out of simulation football!"

Whenever you deal with a free-to-play game like Rocket League or COD: Warzone you kinda moderate your criticism as you know sooner or later a patch will fix whatever issue you encounter.

When money comes into play gamers justifiably have a completely different attitude, patience and expectation of the end result and the aftermath of the Madden 22 release has clearly shown that.

Angry Joe: “The small additions and marketing talk is enough for bull#$% people to buy it”

Very few people seem to remember that the origin story of The Angry Joe Show began with an analysis from host Joe Vargas about the then “groundbreaking” Madden 06, which was expected to bring a whole new experience to the newly released consoles (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3).

And it looks in those intervening 18 years little has changed, as the constantly exasperated reviewer re-lived some of those feelings as he went on an hour-long rant about the state that Madden 22 has been released, taking aim at the card-opening Madden Ultimate Team mode that he likens to "gambling".

"Madden Ultimate Team, this generates EA nearly $2 billion combined with FIFA... it is making so much money but EA can not be bothered to put more development time or work or even an additional studio into working on Madden to make it better!", says Vargas in the clip.

He continues: "No! Because that would cut into their profits and their bottom line of this f**king mode... it is gambling, it is addictive and it teaches kids that money has no value!

"Ever since the mode was introduced in Madden 10 or 11, you can see when the innovative features and attention to detail, in the game, in gameplay improvements. In short, it was all now for this mode. This mode has sucked all the life out of real simulation football."

Oft.

His review doesn't just take aim at Madden Ultimate Team though, he takes shots at a number of issues that many have been plagued with since the game's launch.

Overpowered linesmen, glitched referees, helmet “catches”, the franchise loss glitch, players such as Vargas have had enough.

Vargas also demonstrated how some of the new features of Madden 22 are actually refurbished attempts from previous years or other games like the home-field advantage feature (NCAA games) or the weekly game plan (Madden 05).

There’s even a whole bunch of features like the mini-camps, on-field referees or the NFL combine mini-games that somehow haven’t been able to make a comeback despite the considerable technological progress we are on.

Let’s see if as the complaints gather and could even burst a bombardment just like the change.org petition to bring back 2K as a competitor and maybe will end up with a statement from the EA Sports offices on how they plan to fix everything to offer the user a better overall experience.
