Madden 22 99 Club: QB Patrick Mahomes rounds up a very uneventful group

If there is one thing that the community assumes about video game publishers, especially those involved in the sports world like EA, is that they love controversy within their communities.

Weather is the quality of the visuals, the new game features, different gameplay or just how accurate are a certain player’s attributes, is the spark needed to have lasting hours of friendly (or not) discussion among players all over the globe.

It seems like EA Sports really had no interest in providing any spark this time as all five inductees to the illustrious Madden 99 Club were pretty “safe” players as they are household names, but not necessarily the best at their position last year.

Before we go any further, please do not misinterpret our words, we definitely agree that Patrick Mahomes or any other of this year’s inductees are top-notch players that have the elite qualities to be part of it, that’s unquestioned.

The main idea here is that this group does not necessarily reflect what happened on the field last year.

Once again history proves this is a team sport as two different teams have 2 players with 99 overall but only one of those got to the Super Bowl and they didn’t even win it.

It is also true that this will mean that when we face the Chiefs explosive offence or the Rams lockdown defence we will have a really not-so-fun time playing.
