There's a reason the phrase "your best offense is a good defense" hangs around, because in Madden 24 that rings true. If you want to really dominate in any game mode, you need to know how to intercept the ball in Madden 24.

While shutting down opponents for a punt is never a bad option, being able to make a timely interception can truly turn the tide of any game in an instant. We'll go over all the Madden 24 controls to intercept a pass and tips to look for a coveted pick six.

How to User Pick for an Interception in Madden 24

The first thing you need to do if you're going for a user pick in Madden 24 is switch to the right player. You'll do this by pressing B on Xbox or Circle on PlayStation, and holding the stick in the direction of the player you want to switch to can sometimes speed up this process.

Once you've got the right player, wait for the play to start and look for your opening. When the time is right, hold Y on Xbox or Triangle on PlayStation to intercept the pass. If you're struggling with getting the timing right, spend some time in practice mode or in Play Now against any pass-heavy offense.

Tips to Pick Six in Madden 24

Madden 24 Pick Six

As great as it is to secure an interception in Madden 24, nothing feels quite as sweet as a pick six. If you want to turn your defense into a scoring machine, it'll take excellent timing and enough practice to recognize opening when they're coming.

One great way to do this is to play Superstar Mode as a defensive player or Franchise Mode while player locked as a defensive player. By forcing yourself into that mode for an entire game, you'll do a better job of brushing up specifically on the ability to read offenses and make plays.

Once you've got the timing and basics down, work on watching particularly for potential interceptions with open field around them. You may be able to juke or truck through one player after an interception, but you'll usually need some room to run if you wanna get distance.

If you're in Franchise Mode and want to increase the chances of moments like this, beefing up the skills all across your defense will make interceptions more and more common. By keeping the ratings strong on the defensive line and elsewhere on defense, you'll have multiple players who can make interceptions and the ability to block and setup a defensive score when they do happen.
