Marvel's Midnight Suns T.H.R.E.A.T. Room: How To Unlock & How Does It Work

Deckbuilding plays a pivotal role in the combat system for Marvel's Midnight Suns, which each Hero utilizes. Building a Hero Deck requires eight cards total, based around specific combat skills, represented on Attack, Heroic and Skill Cards.

The best way of testing out a Hero’s deck is by vising Magik, who guards the entrance to the T.H.R.E.A.T. Room, but how to find it requires a little bit of research. This guide explains how to unlock the T.H.R.E.A.T. Room and how it works in Marvel's Midnight Suns.

How To Unlock The T.H.R.E.A.T. Room In Midnight Suns?

The T.H.R.E.A.T. Room is a Yard upgrade players can unlock for The Abbey in Midnight Suns, which can be acquired by completing various prerequisites. This Abbey Upgrade is “hosted” by Illyana Rasputin / Magik, which she controls, and you can participate by doing the required training inside the T.H.R.E.A.T. Room.

The T.H.R.E.A.T. Room can be unlocked by completing the Research project, New Threat, by which you must have done three missions with Magik to acquire the blueprint. Additionally, you must have reached Research Level 4 before it can be crafted by visiting Tony Stark / Iron Man at the Hellfire Forge and adding it to the Yard for 175 Credits.

In the final DLC for Midnight Suns, “Blood Storm,” players can unlock the blueprint for the Enhanced T.H.R.E.A.T. Room as the last Abbey Upgrade. Developer Firaxis games have yet to detail how to unlock the blueprint, whether similar to the New Threat Research project or from completing Storm’s Story Missions.

How Does The T.H.R.E.A.T. Room Work In Midnight Suns?

The primary objective of the T.H.R.E.A.T. Room is to meet the room’s objective by completing waves of combat missions within Limbo. This allows you to practice various Heroes’ abilities and earn XP, Light or Dark Balance, and Hero Cards while in Limbo.

You can only visit the T.H.R.E.A.T. Room once daily with one Hero, in which you can use various Combat Items while fighting off hordes of enemies. While these enemies are lower leveled, you can take advantage of the environments and utilize multiple objects in the combat arena, like crates, rocks, caskets, and more, to inflict environmental damage to them.

Likewise, many will have noticed that each card played when engaged in combat will immediately be refunded or returned to your hand, which also draws another card from the Hero Deck. As such, deckbuilding is incredibly important as you can test out which cards will inflict the most damage, as utilizing abilities with chaining skills ensures that every card played is well used.

As you’ll only need to survive three rounds to complete the objective, you will take plenty of damage due to the number of enemies that will target-lock on you. Hence, having various health-orientated Combat Items could help you survive each round and complete the day’s T.H.R.E.A.T. Room mission.

As such, should you be unable to complete the objective either by getting knocked out or running low on health, you won’t be able to restart or attempt to complete the T.H.R.E.A.T. Room until the next day. Nevertheless, any XP and Light or Dark Balance earned will be saved, and any Combat Item used won’t permanently be consumed.

Lastly, after completing the T.H.R.E.A.T. Room with all playable Heroes, you will earn the Achievement/Trophy, T.H.R.E.A.T. Eliminated. To earn this Achievement/Trophy, you must have survived three turns with every Hero in the T.H.R.E.A.T. Room.
