How To Get Portal Buster Armor in Minecraft Legends

In the new action-strategy title from Mojang Studios and Blackbird Interactive, Minecraft Legends, there's a sweet golden armor called "Portal Buster" that players can get to show off in the Overworld as they fight Piglins and other players.

This guide outlines everything you need to know about the Minecraft Legends Portal Buster golden armor, from how you can get it to if there is any type of gameplay advantage from putting it on.

How To Get Portal Buster Armor in Minecraft Legends

You can't get the Portal Buster armor in Minecraft Legends from playing the campaign or the standard PvP multiplayer. Instead, you will have to participate in the game's first monthly challenge, called Portal Pile. 

These monthly challenges reward players with either a cosmetic item for their character or a mount and feature unique mechanics to get the blood flowing again. To be clear, Minecraft Legends' monthly challenges are called Lost Legends, and Portal Pile is the one for April.

To earn the golden Portal Buster armor in Minecraft Legends, you have to defeat 20 waves of Piglins in the Portal Pile event, essentially completing it. Once you've defeated all 20 waves either solo or in co-op with some friends, you will earn this fancy, shiny armor for your character to wear. 

Mojang Studios explains what the Portal Pile event is all about:

In Portal Pile, the challenge is simple, but not easy. There is one village, surrounded by three Nether portals. Exactly 20 waves of piglins will emerge from those portals, each more dangerous than the one before it. Your quest is to protect the village fountain until the very end. If it’s still standing after the last piglin wave is defeated, you’ve successfully completed the challenge. Between each wave, the villagers will refill the fountain chest with enough resources to keep you going (and building defenses).

The Portal Pile event, alongside all other Minecraft Legends monthly challenges, is entirely free of charge content available in the in-game menu to participate in.

At the time of writing, it is unclear when the Lost Legends Portal Pile challenge will end since Minecraft Legends was released in the middle of April 2023. 

Any Gameplay Advantage For Minecraft Legends' Golden Armor?

No matter how your character looks or which hero you pick at the start, there is no gameplay advantage in Minecraft Legends, which should be great news for all players, despite the fact that you can get it for free.
