NBA 2K22 Season 3 - Iced Out Preview: First Galaxy Opal player, new game modes, seasonal rewards, more.

2K has finally decided to let out some details about the next NBA 2K22 season and we are very excited about what´s coming as we are going to step up the level of competition one more time while adding some fresh game modes to keep us grinding the levels and earning rewards.

As we have already covered, Season 2: Build your Empire was a success and left very high expectations to what could come for Season 3 considering that most players tend to have a little more time to play because of the holidays and the 2K21 winter season was one of the most relished last year.

Earlier today, through their official Twitter account, MyTeam announced the official theme for the third instalment of the NBA 2K22 seasons called Iced Out, and we will tell you everything you need to know.

Tis’ the Christmas season in the NBA 2K22 realms

Who doesn’t enjoy some Christmas lights and decorations? The City will be filled with the holiday spirit so we definitely recommend you to take a stroll in-between games and enjoy the view of buildings and trees full of bright and beautiful adornments.

There will also be some themed events including opening presents on 25th December both on current and next-gen editions you just need to find the Christmas tree to claim yours.

Of course, current-gen players will enjoy the festivities as well because Cancha del Mar will also cruise around the freezing waters of the North Pole allowing players to drop some threes and dunk under the beauty of the Northern lights.

Clutch Time is not the only game mode arriving at NBA 2K22

Clutch Time will arrive at MyTeam bringing a fast-paced battle with other ballers. (Picture: 2K Sports)

We already knew of Clutch Time, the brand new, fast-paced, game mode that will introduce some new twists to the game we all know and loved; like 14-second possessions and the long-awaited four-point shooting line.

Different to Triple Threat, Clutch Time will be a 5-on-5 clash that will benefit the best shooters, so speed, handling and accuracy will have an edge over bigger, slower players as dunks will seldom be the highlight of these games.

Next-gen players will also have an additional single-player game mode added to MyCareer as City Slam will be introduced. This 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4 competition will have you recruiting the best hood players to go to the final City Slam tournament and bring home the championship belt and other fantastic rewards.

If you want to know more details about any of these new game modes we will recommend you to give a thorough read of the latest Courtside Report that 2K released earlier.

Allen Iverson will become the game’s first Galaxy Opal item

Feel amazing to be right, because as the GINX team predicted, Season 3: Iced Out will feature the very first Galaxy Opal player of the instalment as Allen Iverson will be featured as the level 40 reward in MyTeam.

We will even witness the comeback of the Beyond Level 40 agendas that will allow us to use Allen Iverson to keep compiling XP and earning more and better prizes including what they called a “never-seen-before” reward.

Upon completing the Beyond Level 40 agenda you will be granted an option pack so you can choose from the Grand Prized of different game modes like Ascension, Draft, Limited and both Triple Threat rewards which is an instant boost to your team.

2K enjoy the epoch with some seasonal rewards for everyone

One of the most loved rewards from previous Winter seasons in NBA 2K was the inclusion of themed basketballs from all 30 teams as part of the MyTeam rewards so that is also making a comeback for Iced Out.

You can even win a fire basketball, which will make you look really cool while drilling 4-pt daggers in Clutch Time with a ball that is, quite literally, ablaze.

Also, the City Jerseys will also be available virtually as you will be able to claim them by winning a Triple Threat Online: The 100 game with three players from the same franchise.

Those are a few of the rewards that will be included in Iced Out in what shapes to be one of the most giving seasons in NBA 2K22.

Damian Lillard could be the next coach of your squad in MyTeam

NBA 2K22 Season 3 Iced Out Dame Lillard Coach
A team led by Damian Lillard is a constant danger as no distance is too far to shoot some daggers from everywhere around the court. (Picture: 2K Sports)

Last but not least, we recommend you complete Damian Lillard's Signature Challenge where you can earn him as a reward in a Ruby Coach card that could be exactly what your team need to become the ultimate,  three-dimensional scoring machine.

Normally, we don’t really give that much importance to Coaches but this item will give a 3+ boost to players while focusing their tendencies to hover around the perimeter which is fantastic for ballers who prefer stretching the court and hunting three-point looks.

Stay tuned as we will be sharing with you all of the rewards, items, programs and players that Season 3: Iced Out has prepared for you as soon as it is live on3rd December.
