The event's presenter, Geoff Keighley, has prepared a lot of exciting reveals, trailers, updates, and other announcements from the video game industry, both for the already released games, as well as for the brand new ones.
One of the games we will most certainly hear more about is Amazon's New World, which was supposed to come out in August but was delayed for a month following player feedback from the open beta.
The game has huge potential and MMO enthusiasts are hungry for a new experience to dive into. At first glance, it seems that the basics are there, the developers just need to change a few mechanics based on the community's suggestions and fix some issues spotted during the open beta.
While you are waiting for the game to finally releases in September, make sure to grab a few free skins along the way.
How to get Verdant Trapper Twitch Drops skin
As a part of the Opening Night Live event, all New World players will be able to earn a special apparel skin, which you won't be able to obtain in any other way.
To unlock the Verdant Trapper skin, all you need to do is to watch at least 15 minutes of the Opening Night Live stream on Twitch, and you will automatically receive a Twitch drop with the skin.
But before that, you will need to make sure that your Twitch and Steam accounts are connected.
Here's how to link your Twitch and Steam account:
- Sign in with your Twitch account
- Sign in with your Steam account
- Activate Twitch Drops for your Steam account
To check everything is set up properly you can track your progress towards earning drops from the Twitch Drops Inventory page.
Once you have all set up, relax and enjoy watching Gamescom 2021 Opening Night Live on Wednesday, 25th August, starting at 11 am PT / 2 pm ET / 8 pm CET.
And when you watch for at least 15 minutes, your reward will be in your Twitch Drops Inventory, go there and claim it. The reward is then transferred to your Steam account and will wait for you there once New World officially releases on 28th September 2021.
In the meantime, don’t forget to visit our New World dedicated section, where you will find lots of guides, news, and updates prior to the game’s release.
