With all the new game modes that have already made their way to Overwatch 2 and are coming in the future, the Junkenstein event is coming back this year. Junkenstein's Revenge is Overwatch's yearly Halloween event.

Players will want to build up their Overwatch Coins this year because it seems like Blizzard is planning for a big Halloween event. Here, we detail what to expect for this year's Halloween event in Overwatch 2.

Since 2016, Blizzard has been putting on a Halloween event for Overwatch every year. It is known as the Halloween Terror Event, bringing Halloween-themed cosmetics for the game. This year, Blizzard has confirmed the Halloween event is happening from October 10th. This is a few weeks earlier than the Halloween event for 2022.

This year, the event is named Rise of Darkness. From what we can tell, this is clearly based on Diablo 4 with Moira getting a Lilith skin. At the time of this writing, not much else is known about the upcoming Halloween Event. We do suspect that it will play out similarly compared to the other Halloween Events in the past.

Typically, the Halloween events in Overwatch 2 put you in a PvE game mode where you fight hordes of Halloween-themed monsters. The game puts you in a group of four to take on the hordes of monsters. They are the heroes of the story and as of right now, those heroes are unknown. We will update you as soon as we know more.

At the time of this writing, we do not know which Heroes are going to be participating in the Halloween event as a good guy or a bad guy. We know that Wrecking Ball will be one of the featured characters, we just do not know which side he will be on. What we do know is that he will get a new skin for this Halloween Event.

Every year, there is a large group of characters that will get their own skin based on the Halloween Event that is happening. We know that Moira will get a Lilith skin, so we expect other Diablo 4 skins to follow. Once we know more, we will update this page to reflect that information.
