Ramattra To Join Overwatch 2 Hero Roster In Season 2

Overwatch 2 officially launched on 4 October 2022 and debuted alongside many newer features, including three additional heroes, Sojourn, Junker Queen, and Kiriko. A month later, publisher Blizzard Entertainment announced that another new hero would join the roster of playable heroes: introducing the leader of the Null Sector extremist group, Ramattra, in Overwatch 2.

Blizzard Entertainment first teased the new Overwatch 2 hero via a Twitter post on 3 November 2022, writing that players could get an "early look at the next Overwatch 2 hero" at the Overwatch League 2022 Grand Finals on 4 November. This latest announcement came as a treasure for players, who remained hopeful of receiving yet another exciting addition to the already-abundant roster of playable characters -- they were not wrong.

Ramattra will become available to play in Overwatch 2 Season 2 starting 6 December 2022. Players can unlock the new hero by buying the premium version of the Season 2 Battle Pass or after reaching Level 55 of the free Battle Pass. During the debut, Blizzard Entertainment also unveiled an official cinematic trailer detailing Ramattra's origin story, including a snapshot of what Overwatch 2 players might expect. It's worth noting that it's an extremely rare occasion to see Blizzard Entertainment not only debut Overwatch 2 with so many upcoming features but seemingly drop another character out of nowhere. This is especially the case since Kiriko, a caretaker of the Kanezaka shrine and a skilled ninja and healer, was announced around a month ago.

In this regard, Ramattra's release could be seen as an early Christmas present for Overwatch 2 players. Everyone can only hope that this current state of the game's progression remains steady and that Overwatch 2 consistently receives new updates, features, and community feedback to provide a wholly enjoyable experience.
