On 3rd November 2022, Blizzard Entertainment announced that it would unveil a new Overwatch 2 hero during the Overwatch League 2022 (OWL) Grand Finals. That said, the company has since released the official cinematic trailer detailing Omnic's backstory and its new hero: the leader of the extremist group Null Sector, Ramattra.

For newcomers, Ramattra is another fresh face arriving in Overwatch 2 after the release of Kiriko. However, for veteran players who've been playing since early 2019, Ramattra was featured in the ending cutscene of the Overwatch Storm Rising event. Here's everything to know about Ramattra, including how to unlock him, his backstory/lore, and a complete list of his abilities.

How To Unlock Ramattra In Overwatch 2

Ramattra is a Tank hero in Overwatch 2, released on 6th December 2022.

Ramattra became available as a playable hero from Overwatch 2 Season 2 on 6th December 2022. That said, you can unlock Ramattra by purchasing the premium version of the Season 2 Battle Pass or after reaching Level 55 of the free version.

Ramattra's Origin Story in Overwatch 2

Ramattra was one of the many Omnics that turned rogue and aimed to destroy human life and take over the world during The Omnic Crisis. However, in this journey, Ramattra gained sentience and followed the way of transcendence and peace. This path, one Zenyatta followed, helped Ramattra find enlightenment; however, even after finding peace, humankind couldn't co-exist with the robotic race.

This impasse caused terror and multiple Omnic deaths, which inspired hatred in Ramattra against humans. From here, Ramattra vowed to create a home for Omnics through the Null Sector, even if it meant taking down cities and killing humans in the process.

Ramattra Ability Kit in Overwatch 2

Ramattra is a Tanky hero with two combat forms: Omnic and Nemesis. Both combat forms are a little different, with the hero being able to protect his team with barriers while also possessing the power to smash down the enemy's backline.

Ramattra's Omnic form is the hero's more defensive stance, allowing the character to poke enemies with abilities or defend allies with a barrier. On the other hand, Ramattra's Nemesis form is where the hero wreaks havoc and becomes a tanky, unstoppable beast. In this form, Ramattra can march toward the enemy backline and unleash piercing punches.

Here's Ramattra's complete list of abilities. Please note that some of the details of each ability are subject to change in future updates. However, we will endeavor to keep this guide as accurate as possible.

Void Accelerator (Left Click)  - OMNIC Form

"Fires a stream of projectiles in a fixed pattern."

  • Rate of fire: 25 per second.
  • Ammo: 100.
  • Headshot: Yes.
Void Barrier (Right Click) - OMNIC Form

"Create a barrier at the targeted location."

  • Health: 1,000.
  • Duration & Cooldown: 15 seconds.
Pummel (Left Click) - NEMESIS Form

"Punch forward, creating a wave of energy with every swing."

  • Damage: 60.
  • Max Range: 12 meters in radius.
  • Rate of Fire: 1 ATK per 6 seconds.
  • Ammo: Unlimited.

Note: Transforming into Nemesis Form (LSHIFT) changes your attacks and grants 150 bonus Armor. Nemesis form has a duration of 8 seconds, with an 8-second cooldown.

Block (Right Click) - NEMESIS Form

"Significantly reduces damage taken from the front and reduces movement speed."

  • Damage Reduction: 75%.
  • Move Speed: -50% Penalty.
  • Cooldown: None (toggle activation).

Note: Transforming into Nemesis Form (LSHIFT) changes your attacks and grants 150 bonus Armor. Nemesis form has a duration of 8 seconds, with an 8-second cooldown.

Ravenous Vortex (E)

"Fire a nano ball, which explodes when it hits the ground, spreading a damaging field. Affected enemies are also slowed and pulled downward." (AOE)

  • DPS: 15.
  • MoveSpeed: -40% Penalty.
  • Max Range: 4 meters in radius.
  • Duration & Cooldown: 3 seconds / 12 seconds.

Note: This ability is available in Omnic and Nemesis forms.

Ultimate: Annihilation (Q)

"Create a spreading swarm of nanobots that creep out in front of you, dealing damage and reducing enemy damage dealt by 50%." (AOE)

  • DPS: 30.
  • AOE: 13 meters in radius
  • Duration: 3 seconds
  • Cost: 1680 pts.
