As Season 10 of Overwatch 2 approaches, anticipation builds for a plethora of new content, including the introduction of a new hero, updates to the Mythic system, and the highly anticipated addition of the Clash mode.

For those unfamiliar with this new mode or seeking further insight into its mechanics, you've come to the right place. Below, we'll provide a comprehensive explanation of everything you need to know about the Clash mode debuting in Season 10 of Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2 Season 10 Clash Mode Explained

In November 2023, Team 4 initially unveiled the Clash mode at Blizzcon, and the initial response was largely positive, viewing it as a refreshing addition to Overwatch 2. Now, with Season 10 looming, Blizzard has announced that the mode will be included in the upcoming season when it begins in April, albeit only as a limited-time playtest.

This approach will ideally provide Blizzard with an opportunity to gauge players' responses to the new mode and allow them time to make any necessary adjustments and tweaks before its full launch later this year. The playtest of Clash will take place on the new Hanaoka map (adjacent to Hanamura in the game's lore) at the start of Season 10, with the full launch extending to both Hanaoka and Runasapi.

The mechanics of Clash involve five capture points arranged in a straight line on a mirrored map. To secure victory, a team must first capture the central point and then advance to capture the two points within the enemy team's territory.

Meanwhile, the opposing team must defend these points while simultaneously attempting counter-attacks and pushes. The victor is determined by whichever team captures all five points or reaches the round's score limit.

Many players have noted that Clash appears to be a blend of Assault and Push, and there is considerable anticipation to see how this new mode unfolds, especially with the entire roster available to all players once Season 10 commences. However, since there is still some time before Season 10 arrives, we will have to wait and observe how it unfolds and how fans react to the new Clash mode in Overwatch 2.
