Can Ralts Be Shiny In Pokémon GO? - Spotlight Hour

The second September Spotlight Hour For Pokémon GO will feature Ralts. Find out if Ralts can be shiny during the hour.
Can Ralts Be Shiny In Pokémon GO? - Spotlight Hour

Pokémon GO has had a Psychic Spectacular event running for the past week and to close out the fun, Niantic has one more Psychic-type for the Spotlight. In this week's Spotlight, Ralts will be the featured Pokémon, and like any other event, many Trainers will be looking for a shiny.

Unlike the mainline Pokémon games though, not everything in the game has a shiny form. Many are saved for major events to keep Trainers coming back for more. Our guide will go over whether shiny Ralts is in the game and how to make the most of the upcoming Spotlight Hour.

To participate in the Ralts Spotlight Hour, make sure to jump into Pokémon GO on September 13. Every Tuesday, Trainers can expect to take part in the event at the same time which is 6 pm local time to 7 pm local time. This is the perfect time of year to participate in the hour and get some steps in.

While you're out in the wild, you can certainly attempt to get a shiny as well. Shiny Ralts certainly exist in Pokémon GO and Trainers have been able to catch them for some time. The September 13 Spotlight Hour is the perfect opportunity to get your own while the Psychic-types are around.

To make the most of Ralts Spotlight, you'll need some extra items to increase your odds. Without a major event boost, the odds of a shiny encounter are only about 1 in 500 for a wild catch. That means you aren't guaranteed a shiny during the hour by any means.

However, you can increase the spawn rates of all the Ralts around you. Make sure you have an Incense Lure activated along with a Lure Module if you're around some PokéStops. While the Spotlight is live, you'll have nearly infinite spawns of Ralts, but you won't have a lot of time.

To save as much time as possible, it's best to make use of the encounters in the game. Any time you tap on a Pokémon, you'll see right away whether it's shiny or not. There's no need to catch the Ralts or anything else to see what form you got. Keep tapping on everything you see and backing out until you get a shiny. With any luck, you'll have a new Ralts for your collection.
