Grafaiai Pokemon Scarlet & Violet - Everything We Know So Far

Just recently, the Pokémon Company revealed a brand new Pokémon through a recent tweet called Grafaiai that will be making its debut in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This Pokémon is still currently shrouded in some mystery, but there is information to be gleaned as it currently stands, and that's where this article comes in.

We'll be taking a look at everything we know so far about the new Pokémon Grafaiai, the details surrounding its reveal, and what the future for this Pokémon looks like in Scarlet and Violet. So without further delay, let's jump right in.

Grafaiai Pokémon Scarlet & Violet - Everything We Know So Far

The Pokémon Company published teaser pictures of multicolored shapes that were painted on trees and rocks on 29th August. Similar teasers were also released the next day, along with the identity of the offender: Grafaiai.

The new Paldean Pokémon Grafaiai is said to have left these markings, according to the official Pokémon Twitter. Although the 'photographer' stated that it is challenging to capture the creature in motion, he or she promised to share more pictures soon.

The second teaser featured more of these painted trees as well as a blurry silhouette of a Pokémon. And though this is not sufficient evidence to say for sure what the Pokémon is, we're sure that The Pokémon Company will be sharing an official reveal very soon.

Remember the markings we shared yesterday? Well, the Paldean photographer has confirmed that these were made by a Pokémon called #Grafaiai!

In the meantime, some leakers are claiming that they know more about this Pokémon than what's been officially released. Some stated that the Pokémon is similar in size and stature to that of a lemur. This could be very likely since the previous Pokémon known for its artistic abilities, Smeargle, was also roughly around this size.

Others leakers have also suggested that Grafaiai is the middle evolution of an evolutionary tree, meaning we could see a baby and full-grown version of this street artist Pokémon too. Another theory from the notable Pokémon leaker by the name of Ridder_Khu claims the Pokémon’s typing is Normal/Poisontype, and if you know your Pokémon types, you'll know why this is a big deal.

Grafaiai would be the first Normal and Poison-type Pokémon in the National Pokédex, thanks to this being a previously unused type combination in any of the previous games. This means that Grafaiai would not only be new to the franchise, but also the first of its kind, and without a doubt a Pokémon you'll want to keep an eye out for as the game nears its release.
