How to catch Shieldon in Pokémon Legends Arceus

Shieldon can be a tough Pokémon to grab in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, unless you have the right guide to help.
How to catch Shieldon in Pokémon Legends Arceus

There are certain Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus that require some kind of special event to catch. These special events can range from doing something specific on the map to waiting for something to take place out of the blue. Regardless, there are several Pokémon that can only be caught during one of these events. Shieldon is one such Pokémon and will need to be caught a little later in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Shieldon was a fossil Pokémon in the mainstream titles, like in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. That’s changed in Legends Arceus but the rarity of Shieldon has remained the same. An in-game event will need to occur for you to have a shot at capturing the Rock and Steel-type Pokémon. In the guide below, you can see exactly what you need to do to capture Shieldon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

You can’t even think about adding Shieldon to your Legends Arceus team until you’ve reached Coronet Highlands. This means you’ll need to be at least at Mission 11 in the main story. This will take some time but shouldn’t be too far away from you if you just started the game.

Once you’re in Coronet Highlands, you have to wait for a Space-Time Distortion to spawn on the map. You won’t have to guess when one has spawned, as an in-game message will appear alerting you that one has appeared. What you will have to guess is where the Space-Time Distortion is on the map. You have to track it down on your map, which can take some time.

After you’ve done that, you will need to wait for the distortion to come into its full form. You’ll know when this is done when the distortion is at its largest size. Once this happens, enter the portal and start walking around. This is how you make certain Pokémon spawn.

Shieldon is one Pokémon that can spawn, but it’s not a sure-fire chance. You might have to exit the Space-Time Distortion and wait for another to repeat the process in hopes of catching a Shieldon. If you’re lucky enough to find one on your first try, then use a Water or Fighting-type Pokémon to weaken it and then throw a Poké Ball to capture it.

You now have a Shieldon and can evolve it into Bastiodon with enough training.
