Pokémon BDSP - How To Get Ditto?

Here's how to catch Ditto in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (BDSP) so you can breed it with nearly any Pokémon.
Pokémon BDSP - How To Get Ditto?

Ditto is one of the most iconic monsters in the Pokémon franchise. In addition, this highly sought-after pocket monster is a strong battler and can be bred with almost any other Pokémon; this makes Ditto one of the most popular and valuable Pokémon in the game.

As a result, it makes sense that many players are wondering how to capture Ditto in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. In this guide, we'll go over precisely that, so you can catch this awesome Pokémon, add it to your Pokédex, and maybe even breed your existing Pokémon.

Capturing Ditto in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl isn't particularly challenging compared to other Pokémon. However, you will need to complete a few prerequisites.

First, you must beat the game and acquire the National Dex. This step is not optional: you absolutely must beat the game to obtain Ditto in the wild in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. If you haven't done this, you will not be able to access the area, and the Pokémon will not spawn.

Once you've beaten the Elite Four, you can head out on your way into Sinnoh to capture your very own Ditto to add to your team. Ditto can be found in the Grand Underground (Stargleam Cavern and Dazzling Cave) and on Route 218, but you'll need a PokéRadar to assist you in finding Ditto at the latter location.

Just because you have to activate the Radar doesn't mean capturing Ditto here is problematic. There's a 20% chance of finding a Ditto each time you encounter a wild Pokémon on Route 218, so you shouldn't have to look around for long.

Capturing Ditto in the caves or on Route 218 won't require any special tools or items either, apart from the PokéRadar. You can use Pokéballs to capture a wild Ditto or bring along some Ultra Balls to ensure that your target Pokémon has a much lower chance of escaping.

That concludes our guide on how to get Ditto in Pokémon BDSP.
