Pokémon Go: Xerneas and Yveltal to make debut in May

Niantic has announced that legendary pokémons Xerneas and Yveltal will be making their Pokémon GO debut in May. Their arrival will be a part of the Luminous Legends X and Y event.

According to the official notification, Xerneas, the Life Pokémon, will be making its Pokémon GO debut from May 4, 2021, at 10 am to May 18, 2021, at 10 am local time. Also, Yveltal, the Destruction Pokémon, will be making its Pokémon GO debut from May 18, 2021, at 10 am to June 1, 2021, at 10 am local time.

Under the events, there will be multiple raids which will include Mega Raids and 5-star Raids and it will feature exclusive Pokemons throughout the month of May. Find the complete event details given below:

5-Star Raids

  • Incarnate Forme Tornadus, Incarnate Forme Thundurus, and Incarnate Forme Landorus appear in five-star raids until May 4, 2021, at 10 am local time

  • Xerneas will make its debut from May 4, 2021, at 10 am to May 18, 2021, at 10 am local time

  • Yveltal will make its debut from May 18, 2021, at 10 am to June 1, 2021, at 10 am local time

  • There will be a Raid Hour event every Wednesday in May and it will feature the Pokémon appearing in five-star raids that week from 6 pm to 7 pm local time

Mega Raids

  • Mega Venusaur, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Abomas will appear in Mega Raids till May 4, 2021, at 10 am local time

  • Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Lopunny will appear in Mega Raids from May 4, 2021, from 10 am to May 15, 2021, at 5 pm local time

  • Mega Ampharos and Mega Houndoom, will appear from May 15, 2021, at 5 pm to June 1, 2021, at 10 am

  • A surprise Mega-Evolved Pokémon will also appear in Mega Raids from May 15, 2021 to June 1, 2021. 

In the events, the players can coordinate with each other to catch as many Pokemons as possible. If they are able to catch 500 million Fairy types by May 11, then it will unlock the second half of the event that is expected to take place from May 11 to May 17, 2021.
