What are Drapion's weaknesses in Pokémon BDSP?

Drapion is a feared Pokémon but can be taken down with some glaring weaknesses. This article will help you learn all Drapion's weaknesses in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
What are Drapion's weaknesses in Pokémon BDSP?

Drapion is one of the stronger Pokémon in the entirety of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Not only does it pack a punch when you add it to your party, but its appearance in the Elite Four can make getting past Aaron a difficult task. However, there is one way to counter it and ensure that you don’t get wiped by a single Drapion throughout your travels.

Contrary to what some fans think, Drapion is a Poison and Dark-type Pokémon. Some players believe that Drapion is a Bug-type instead of Dark since its pre-evolution, Skorupi, is a Bug-type. However, Drapion sheds that horrible typing for something much stronger.

This eliminates many of its weaknesses, leaving players with only one type they can use against it to deal super-effective damage.

In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Drapion is only weak to Ground-type attacks. Drapion’s Poison typing eliminates any of the weaknesses it would have to Dark-types. This means all that’s left is its weakness to Ground from its Poison typing.

If you want to have success against Drapion, having a Pokémon with a move like Earthquake is going to be your best bet. A Pokémon like Garchomp, Hippowdon or Gastrodon is preferable since those are all Ground-types that have high stats and can make use of a move like Earthquake. If you don’t have any Ground-types, then teaching a move like Earthquake or even Bulldoze is the next best option.

However, you also want to make sure that any of your Pokémon aren’t weak to Drapion’s main typings. If you send out a Psychic, Grass or Ghost-type, you’re likely going to get beat by Drapion’s moveset. Drapion is fast and hits hard, so don’t underestimate it when going up against Aaron or any other trainer that wields the Ogre Scorpion in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

And there you have it, now you know what are Drapion's weaknesses in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and you are ready to fight it!
