There are a whole lot of puzzles in Resident Evil Village for players to complete. Some of these puzzles are required to progress in the story, such as the task of opening the Music Box. In this guide, we will tell you exactly how to complete the piano puzzle in Resident Evil Village, thereby locating the Iron Insignia Key in Castle Dimitrescu so you can continue on in the story.
RE Village piano puzzle solution
In the Opera House area of Castle Dimitrescu, you will stumble upon a piano that has a puzzle attached to it.
Essentially, to complete the piano puzzle, you will need to play the correct notes on the instrument. While you can brute force through this puzzle in Resident Evil Village, our guide will help you complete it quickly and move on to the next section of the game.
First up, you need to "examine" the piano, which will show you some sheet music. Thankfully, you don't actually have to be a music expert to complete this puzzle.
From there, you need to align the orange dot with the black dot on the music sheet. Hit the keys on the piano until your orange dot is on the correct spot, then wait one or two seconds for it to register, which will move you onto the next musical note.
The trick here is that the left keys on the piano in Resident Evil Village are for the lower notes, and the right side keys are for the higher notes.
Once you've completed all 10 notes in the piano puzzle, you will get the Iron Insignia Key, a vital item in your attempt to escape Castle Dimitrescu.
You can also use this key on one of the first locked gates you came across in the Old Town, thereby further progressing in the story.
