Sons of the Forest will still release on 23 February but via Steam Early Access.
In an interview with GamesRadar, the developers explained the massive size of Sons of the Forest.
"In just scale, the world is around 4x the size of The Forest, but everything is more detailed this time, with more plant and tree variety, more log and stump types, and visually when you craft items, for example, a Molotov Cocktail, you actually see the player take some cloth and shove it into a bottle of vodka. When you place a log on a wall or cut a floor apart you see the player actually do it. We wanted this to feel like the ultimate camping simulator meets a terrifying horror survival game."
Wishlist Sons of the Forest on Steam ahead of its expected February 2023 release.
No new Sons of the Forest news this week, so we will likely hear something in early 2023.
We can't help but wonder if Sons of the Forest will get a new trailer or solid release date at The Game Awards 2022. We aren't holding our breaths, but the anticipation is building.

Developer Endnight Games has made a tonne of improvements in Sons of the Forest compared to the original. These include:
- New weapons, from Pistols to Shotguns.
- New Mutants that work better together thanks to improved AI. New additions include some conjoined mutants, one with a huge mouth, and more.
- Upgraded building mechanics and crafting.
- A dynamic weather system, including seasons.
Sons of the Forest Release Date
Sons of the Forest was initially set to release in August 2022, but the release date was then pushed back to October 2022. As such, fans were excited about a release coming this month.
However, developers recently decided to push the release date back one more time to add the finishing touches to Sons of the Forest.
Right now, Sons of the Forest is set to release on 23rd February 2023.
Of course, developers could push the date back again if even more polish is needed on the game, so check back here regularly for more updates on the game's prospective release date.

Sons of the Forest Platforms/Console Release
Sons of the Forest is currently only set to release on Steam - but that doesn't mean you should give up hope if you only have a console.
The upcoming game's predecessor, The Forest, came out on PS4 and Steam.
Sons of the Forest isn't currently slated for a console release, but the developers of The Forest will likely be keen on releasing it on PlayStation or even Xbox as soon as possible.
Of course, this is all just speculation, so we will have to wait and see if developers end up gearing up for a console release.
Sons of the Forest Gameplay
Sons of the Forest is an open-world survival horror game that will throw players onto an island in their search for a missing billionaire.
On the island, you'll get to make all your own decisions; there will be no NPCs or quests to guide your way. You'll have to do everything you can to survive, fighting demonic forces while building and crafting materials.
The game will feature dynamic seasons, with the atmosphere and resources available changing with in-game time.
You'll also be able to play with your friends, so you won't have to brave the island alone.
