Obi-Wan Kenobi Jedi tomb - Who is Tera Sinube in Star Wars?

Many fans are asking who is Tera Sinube after a riveting Episode 4 of the new Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
Obi-Wan Kenobi Jedi tomb - Who is Tera Sinube in Star Wars?

The Star Wars Obi Wan-Kenobi series has been full of references to other content in Clone Wars and Fallen Order, but none of them have been as grim as the reveal for Tera Sinube in Episode 4. Back in Episode 3, fans were told that Quinlan Vos was alive and survived the purge. Master Sinube wasn't so lucky.

Most of the Easter Eggs in Episode 4 were tied to Jedi: Fallen Order, which makes sense given the location of the episode. The Inquisitor fortress was introduced in Fallen Order, and many of the scenes mimic what is seen from Cal Kestis in that base. But the Easter Egg regarding Sinube is tied to the Clone Wars show, and he had an interesting history.

Tera Sinube was a powerful male Cosian Jedi. Most of his exploits took place during the time of the High Republic, and he was a Jedi Master in his time that was regarded highly enough to earn a seat on the High Council. On the High Council, he was present for the promotions of Cere Junda, another character from Jedi: Fallen Order.

His main specialty as a Jedi on Coruscant was investigation through his attunement in the force. Many Jedi have their own unique specializations, including Quinlan Vos who could see remnants of the past on objects. Sinube became a lead investigator on Coruscant and was more efficient at tracking the criminal underworld than nearly anyone else.

He was so effective that he was needed to help Ahsoka retrieve her lightsaber in Season 2 of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. In the episode, he teaches Ahsoka about patience and uses his techniques to track down and dispatch the thief who got the best of the young Padawan.

By the time Order 66 happened, Master Sinube was already very old and he spent most of his time training others at the Temple on Coruscant. He still participates in a few episodes later on in Clone Wars, but he is far past his prime. Obi-Wan Kenobi confirms he likely didn't survive much farther than the initial Jedi Purge.

Tera Sinube's unique Lightsaber in Star Wars

As you can see in Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 4, Master Sinube is already old and he lived a full life as a Jedi. By the time fans meet him, he is fairly slow and relies on a cane to get around. But as we see with Ahsoka Tano, the can isn't just for show.

Sinube's Lightsaber pulls from his can like a scabbard and is then held by the cane hilt. It's similar to Dooku's in shape, but the handle is far more simple. On top of the unique cane, Sinube also has a Lightsaber with a unique light blue glow. At first glance, it can even look white, but the color is his alone.
