Customize your Kick experience by hiding Slots & Casino content. Follow our guide to tailor your streaming journey to your personal preferences.
How To Hide Slots & Casino Streams On Kick

Are you looking to fine-tune your Kick viewing experience? Great! Here's how to turn off gambling streams on Kick! Since its launch in December 2022, Twitch's rival streaming platform has surged in popularity, securing streaming giants like xQc and Amouranth while amassing an impressive 10 million accounts within just seven months.

In line with Kick's commitment to offering personalized viewing experiences, it introduced an easy-to-use feature to hide Slots & Casino content, a response to user feedback received 48 hours earlier. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to customize your Kick content, making your streaming journey more enjoyable and tailored to your preferences.

How To Disable Slots & Casino Content On Kick

Given Kick's striking resemblance to competitor streaming platform Twitch, it goes without saying that new users have not had a hard time adjusting. That said, hiding gambling content on Kick could not be easier. Follow these extremely easy steps:

  • Sign up or log in to your Kick.com account.
  • Navigate to the "Settings" menu by clicking on your avatar in the top-right corner of the screen.
  • Under the "Profile" tab, scroll to the bottom of the customization options
  • Under the "Content Preferences" submenu, tick the "Hide Slots & Casino" option.
  • Press the "Save" button.

And voila! All gambling streams on Kick should now be hidden from your main screen and recommendations.

Pro Tip: While there, you can also turn off the "Pools, Hot Tubs & Bikinis" category content if you're not too fond of thirsty content. Of course, you can always re-enable this content at a later date by unticking the relevant content options.

Why Does Kick Have Options To Block Gambling Streams?

Good question. The option to hide Slots & Casino content on Kick presumably stemmed from pushback and criticism from the broader streaming community regarding the platform's connection to a prominent online casino, Stake.

Specifically, Kick co-founder Eddie Craven is also a co-founder of Stake, with some critics arguing that Kick is merely a vehicle for Stake to publicize and increase exposure to gambling on an impressionable audience. Additionally, co-founder and streamer Trainwreck is widely known for his gambling streams.

All speculation aside, it appears that Kick's latest move is an attempt to provide a fair viewer experience by allowing users to toggle off certain categories. In a statement published immediately before the option to hide Slots & Casino streams on Kick was introduced, Craven said:

"Alongside this update, we've also removed some unnecessary exposure to gambling-related content throughout our recommended formulas. We'll also be adding the ability to toggle off all gambling-related streams, amongst other certain categories viewers wish to not be exposed to. Viewer experience is equally as important to us as creators."
