Teamfight Tactics' third set, Galaxies, brought new and returning champions with classes and origins that differ from previous sets.
One of these origins is Space Pirate. In Galaxies, Space Pirate champions are from one of the newest origins, bringing back a familiar trait bonuses from Set 1.
This bonus triggers with two Space Pirate champions on the field, with a chance on each enemy champion takedown to grant one additional Gold.
While Pirates existed in the original set, Space Pirates have the added bonus of possible item components dropping when all four are on the field.
There are four Space Pirate champions currently available in Galaxies:
Below is a full breakdown of all of all four Space Pirate champions including their costs, classes and stats.
Space Pirate / Blaster
Cost: 1 Gold
Ability: Smoke Grenade = Graves launches a smoke grenade toward the highest attack speed enemy, which explodes on impact dealing magic damage to enemies in the area and causing their attacks to miss for four seconds.
Space Pirate / Mana-Reaver
Cost: 2 Gold
Ability: Dreadnova Guillotine = Darius dunks an enemy, dealing magic damage. If this kills the target, Darius immediately casts again. Targets below 50% health take double damage.
Space Pirate / Vanguard
Cost: 3 Gold
Ability: To the Skies! = Jayce jumps into the air and slams his hammer, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies.
Space Pirate / Demolitionist / Mercenary
Cost: 5 Gold
Ability: Orbital Strike = Gangplank calls down a large orbital strike around his target, dealing magic damage to all enemies in that area for two seconds.

Space Pirates can be used to build up gold throughout the game alongside numerous classes and origins. While the full trait bonus requires a five-cost unit, the additional gold will build up and make it easier to reach the higher levels, buy Gangplank and afford upgrades thanks to his Mercenary class.
Being able to gain items, including Spatulas and Neeko's Help, is a huge advantage and can even help claim victory from the jaws of defeat if you are lucky.
Darius has the ability to recast his ability if he kills an enemy champion and so mana items that allow him to cast frequently will allow him to be a strong carry in the early game and remain powerful throughout.
