Netflix To Get 3 Ubisoft Games & Assassin's Creed Live-Action Series

Netflix is getting an Assassin's Creed game and live-action series, and two more Ubisoft mobile games: Valiant Hearts 2 and Mighty Quest.

Ubisoft Forward 2022 featured many exciting announcements, ranging from gameplay footage of the highly anticipated release of Skull and Bones to several new Assasin's Creed projects. In addition, Ubisoft plans to partner with major streaming platform Netflix, bringing a live-action adaptation of Assassin's Creed to viewers' screens and three exclusive mobile game titles: Mighty Quest, Valient Hearts 2, and Assassin's Creed mobile.

Each of these Ubisoft titles will join Netflix's expansive list of mobile game offerings, per their Netflix Games service, which is freely available to its subscribers. Valiant Hearts 2 is expected to be released in January 2023 and is a sequel to the puzzle-adventure game Valient Hearts: The Great War, initially released in 2014.

On the other hand, Mighty Quest will be a follow-up of the "roguelite-inspired hack-and-slash adventure" game The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot (shut down in 2016) at an undisclosed date in 2023. Then the third game joining Netflix's ad-free mobile games suite is Assassin’s Creed; the company did not divulge the game's anticipated release date; however, it is currently in development.

In addition, Ubisoft and Netflix are working on an "epic, genre-bending live-action adaptation" of Assassin's Creed. Originally announced in October 2020, there has not been much information about the show apart from Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik serving as the show's executive producers.

In the blog post, Altman said, "For more than ten years, millions of fans around the world have helped shape the Assassin’s Creed brand into an iconic franchise." Altman added, "We’re thrilled to create an Assassin’s Creed series with Netflix, and we look forward to developing the next saga in the Assassin’s Creed universe."

Despite the Netflix Assassin's Creed series being (presumably) in the works for the better part of nearly two years, no further information was revealed at Ubisoft Forward 2022. Also, Ubisoft did not reveal an anticipated premiere date. Our only hope is that it's nothing like the botched Resident Evil adaptation.
