Latvia's Ardis "ardiis" Svarenieks has joined FunPlus Pheonix's Valorant roster as the Chinese esport organisation seeks to compete with the very best in Valorant.
He will replace Tobias "ShadoW" Flodström who was benched alongside Dmitriy "dimasick" Matvienko back in August.
The 23-year-old has been on trial with the squad going back to November when he appeared with them at Red Bull Home Ground. They finished 3rd in their group, beating Anubis Gaming but failing to reach the latter stages.
Ardiis made his name at Fish123, at the time, considered the best-unsigned team, picked up by G2 Esports, they dominated the European scene in the first year of Valorant esports.
But as competition grew, that G2 roster fell behind, and in June of this year, ardiis, Patryk "paTiTek" Fabrowski, and Aleksander "zeek" Zygmunt were dropped.
