The incredibly popular franchise The Sims and developer Electronic Arts, recently announced on their official website that the new game The Sims 4 will be free to download across various platforms. The decision to make the game free to play was made to welcome new players without boundaries. 

The Sims is an immersive game that allows players to create anything their imagination desires. If you want to find out more about how to download The Sims 4 for free, this guide will tell you everything you need to know about the releases.

The massively popular Sims Franchise recently introduced its free-to-play DLC The Sims 4. The Sims is widely known for its extensive customizations allowing players to create themselves, favorite celebrities, or even fantasy characters.

The game allows players to create their ideal home, with multiple layout choices, furnishings, and terrain to welcome a new family or friends. Players are able to customize all aspects of their Sims life, from personality, appearance, and career choices.

It was recently announced by the official Sims Twitter page that the game will soon be free to download on various platforms on the 18th October 2022. The base game will be available via the PC EA app or Origin, Mac via Origin, Steam, Playstation 4|5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One systems.

Any additional content will require players to make separate purchases, as expansion packs will remain paid-for content. For players who have previously purchased The Sim 4 base game will receive an additional Desert Luxe Kit as a gift from developers, the kit gifts players with new indoor and outdoor furniture. Players are able to change their furniture into neutral tones “for a bright and sophisticated space”.
