The Medium full PC system requirements revealed with Ray Tracing specs

The Medium, developed by Blooper Team and releasing on PC as well as Xbox Series X/S consoles on 28th January 2021, is one of our top horror games releasing this year. 

For those on PC, who've been wondering if they need to invest in an upgrade, we've got you covered. The full PC system requirements for The Medium has been revealed, which includes some very high specs if you want to enable Ray Tracing.

The Medium PC system requirements

The Medium, a next-gen psychological horror featuring Silent Hill composer, Akira Yamaoka, has some interesting gameplay elements, including Dual Reality. 

Basically, two game worlds are running at the same time, and players will need to solve puzzles and investigate while surviving as a "medium" in terrifying landscapes.

With the Dual Reality gameplay, The Medium is expected to be taxing on older system, and it won't even release on Xbox One consoles.

However, the minimum system requirements for The Medium isn't all that bad. Check out the full non-Ray Tracing requirements below.

Minimum (1080p/30 fps, low preset)

  • OS: Windows 10 64 bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 5
  • GPU: GeForce 1650 Super or GTX 1060, or AMD R9 390X
  • RAM: 8GB
  • Storage: 50GB HDD
  • DirectX: 11

Recommended (1080p/30 fps, medium preset)

  • OS: Windows 10 64 bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-9600 or AMD Ryzen 3700 X
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 1660 Super or AMD RX 5600XT 6GB
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Storage: 50GB SSD
  • DirectX: 11

High (1440p/30 fps, high present)

  • OS: Windows 10 64 bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-9600 or AMD 3700 X
  • GPU: GeForce RTX 2060 Super or AMD 5700 XT
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Storage: 50GB SSD
  • DirectX: 11

Ultra (2160p/30 fps, high preset)

  • OS: Windows 10 64 bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700 X
  • GPU: GeForce RTX 2080 8GB or RTX 3060 Ti, or AMD RX 6800 16GB
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Storage: 50GB SSD
  • DirectX: 11

The Medium's PC system requirements only aim for 30 fps and no 60 fps options for PC have been mentioned.

 

The Medium Ray Tracing specs

With The Medium's Ray Tracing specs, you will probably need to upgrade your gaming rig if you haven't in the last few years.

Don't let your old gaming rig see this Ray Tracing specs for The Medium, as they are quite steep, to say the least.

Raytracing Minimum (1080p/30 fps, medium preset)

  • OS: Windows 10 64 bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-9600 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700 X
  • GPU: GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB or AMD RX 6800 16GB
  • RAM: 16GB

Raytracing Recommended (1440p/30 fpx, high preset)

  • OS: Windows 10 64 bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700 X
  • GPU: GeForce RTX 3060 Ti or RTX 2080 8GB, or AMD RX 6800 16GB
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Storage: 50GB SSD
  • DirectX: 12

Raytracing high (2160p/30 fps, high preset)

  • OS: Windows 10 64 bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700 X
  • GPU: GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD RX 6800 XT 16GB
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Storage: 50GB SSD
  • DirectX: 11

As you can see, The Medium's PC system requirements, as well as the Ray Tracing specs, are very detailed. 

It is interesting to note only the lowest PC system requirements do not ask for an SSD, which is something to consider if you haven't upgraded to one yet for your gaming needs.
