Beginning their venture into backwards compatibility in 2015, Microsoft continues to push on in an attempt to unify their consoles past and present. Although three new consoles have been released since 2015, Xbox refuses to move in only one direction.
Today marks a massive achievement in the field of backwards compatibility, as a new platform is being introduced. Just launched, new and existing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will have access to up to 16 original Xbox and Xbox 360 on android phones and tablets. More have been announced as in the works.

After listening to feedback surrounding backwards compatibility, cloud gaming for titles from previous generations was at the forefront of fan requests. Starting today, the following original Xbox and Xbox 360 titles will be available on a mobile, cloud-based platform:
- Double Dragon Neon
- Fable II
- Fallout: New Vegas
- Gears of War 2
- Gears of War 3
- Gears of War: Judgment
- Jetpac Refuelled (touch controls enabled)
- Perfect Dark
- Perfect Dark Zero
- The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Seeing that these games will be linked with your other consoles on the Xbox network, you’ll be able to bring past saves with you on the go. It’s a massive step for backwards compatibility and mobile gaming all in one motion.
