With the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, there has been a lot of new content that players have been exploring. Although Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild, it is a completely different game with a lot of new mechanics and new areas to explore.
With that being said, there could be much more that is added to the game as well. Breath of the Wild had some DLC drops after the game launched. But does that mean that Tears of the Kingdom will also be updated with DLC as well? Here, we will go over whether Tears of the Kingdom will get DLC or not.

In an interview with Famitsu, Eiji Aonuma who has been the lead producer and director for the Zelda series says that there is no DLC for Tears of the Kingdom coming. It is possible that this could be the developers setting up for a surprise but this interview does not bode well for those who are waiting for the DLC to come out soon.
There were 119 days between the launch of Breath of the Wild and its first DLC, The Master Trials pack. For those interested, 119 days after the launch of Tears of the Kingdom would be 8 September 2023.
We certainly don't expect to see any surprise DLC dropping in the next 7 days, but assuming Nintendo does look to release DLC for the game in a vaguely similar timeframe, we could maybe expect to see something in the next two months to help sell the game further ahead of the holiday season.
Will Tears Of The Kingdom Get DLC?
So the question right now is will Tears of the Kingdom will get DLC or not. As of this writing, Nintendo has not confirmed the existence of DLC for Tears of the Kingdom. If you look at the official website for the game, there is currently no mention of DLC. However, this was not always the case.
If you use the Wayback Machine tool to see the official page for Tears of the Kingdom on February 27th, 2023, you will see a warning at the bottom of the screen. It says, "**Full version of game required to use DLC. Sold Separately." This basically confirms that, yes, Tears of the Kingdom is getting DLC. We just do not know when Nintendo will officially announce the DLC.
When Will Tears Of The Kingdom DLC Be Released?
Although Tears of the Kingdom DLC has not been officially confirmed just yet, we can get a pretty good idea of when to expect them based on how Breath of the Wild handled the DLC. Assuming that the DLC will happen, we can expect the first DLC for Tears of the Kingdom to launch in August or October.
This is purely based on previous release patterns on how Nintendo released DLC for Breath of the Wild. Considering how successful the launch of Tears of the Kingdom was, Nintendo could launch the DLC for the game sooner than expected. And there could be more than two waves of DLC for Tears of the Kingdom as well. After all, Tears of the Kingdom is a much bigger game than Breath of the Wild, with more areas that could be expanded upon.
