Tears of the Kingdom rose to the challenge and there are many players who are trying Zelda for the first time through Tears of the Kingdom.

In Tears of the Kingdom, there are a good amount of new mechanics that are introduced in the game. One of the mechanics is the Gloom status condition. Gloom is a tricky status to maneuver, especially if you do not know how to deal with it. Although there are ways to resist Gloom, what about curing it? Here, we will go over how to cure Gloom in Tears of the Kingdom.

How To Get Rid Of Gloom In Tears Of The Kingdom

Tears of the Kingdom has introduced several new areas to Hyrule. Not only are there Sky Islands, there are also The Depths which have you going underground. The Depths are filled with Gloom, so knowing how to cure it is essential. The quick and easy way to cure Gloom is by going to the surface. You will automatically lose any Gloom on you and you will recover the hearts you lost.

If you want to stay exploring in The Depths though, there are two main ways to cure Gloom. The first is to go under an activated Lightroot. Lightroots are like Skytowers on the surface but in the depths, they cure Gloom. You can also cure Gloom by eating Sunny meals. These are meals that have been cooked with Sundelion to give the cure Gloom effect.

What Does Gloom Do In Tears Of The Kingdom?

Gloom is a pretty nasty status condition that makes traversing in the depths a lot harder. Gloom will lower the amount of Hearts you have. This is indicated by a cracked gray heart where your heart used to be. You can get Gloom in a couple of ways. The first is to stand in a red pile of Gloom for too long. The second is to be hit by a Gloom enemy which is indicated by the red Gloom that coats them.

Getting infected with Gloom will lower the amount of hearts you have and you cannot recover them by conventional methods. This is a huge blow to your defense as you are much more likely to die while infected by Gloom. You will have to employ the methods above to recover the hearts lost to the Gloom. But if you have a lot of Sunny meals while you are exploring the depths, then you have nothing to fear.
