Forza Motorsport features multiple unique features and mechanics, from Blind Driving Assists, Challenge the Grid, and a revamped Career Mode to give players the edge when competing for pole position. Another new feature that tracks and evaluates performance within certain areas on racetracks and highlights their strengths and weaknesses.

Segment Score encompasses this as it compares your actual performance against what it potentially is and scores on this basis. As for how it works and how to get the highest score possible, we’ve detailed in this guide what players need to know about the Segment Score system in Forza Motorsport.

What Is Segment Score & How Does It Work In Forza Motorsport?

As mentioned before, the new assessment system, Segment Score, is one of many new features introduced in Forza Motorsport, which can provide players with valuable performance data. This system is present across all game modes in-game but is most visible during Open Practice in Featured Multiplayer, with a timer appearing at the bottom center of the screen when triggered and the scoring appearing at the top right.

This occurs upon entering a timed zone for which players will be timed and assessed on their performance during this zone. This data will be compared against an algorithm compiled of data, including the car's potential performance with the same upgrades, and supplies them with up-to-the-minute feedback once the data has been compared.

It will grade their performance, and they'll receive a score in decimals between 1.0 and a perfect ten after exiting the zone or if a collision occurs. Players will earn XP based on their Segment Score and receive unique bonuses to attain the best time or performance during the Segment Score zone.

Is It Possible To Get A High Segment Score In Forza Motorsport?

Yes, it's entirely possible for players to get a high Segment Score, even a 10.0 score, although the latter is somewhat rare to achieve. Players who want to maximize earning the most XP during a Segment Score zone can either finish the zone within the fastest time, have better handling, or have the best clean segment or no collisions possible.

It's advised to remain within the driving zone, as going off-track could result in a penalty and harm your chances of attaining a high Segment Score. However, if this is unavoidable, they can utilize the Rewind feature, retry the Segment Score zone on the next lap, or restart the race altogether to give themselves multiple chances of maximizing the XP earned.

Forza Motorsport will be available on 10th October 2023 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, Cloud Gaming, Windows PC, and Steam. Players who've pre-ordered the game will receive Early Access, which begins on 5th October 2023.
