Can Tynamo Be Shiny In Pokémon GO? – Spotlight Hour

Tynamo will be featured in the upcoming Spotlight Hour event, but can it be a Shiny in Pokémon GO?
Can Tynamo Be Shiny In Pokémon GO? – Spotlight Hour

With the Lunar New Year's festivities slowly ending, Trainers must be prepared to be electrified as the next in-game event; Crackling Voltage, begins soon. Team GO Rocket will also make its presence known again as they will take over the game in their limited-time showcase in February 2023.

But before we shock them again, the next Spotlight Hour event will begin as the eel-looking Pokémon, Tynamo, will be spawning in the wild. But, more importantly: can we encounter a Shiny Tynamo? Here, we will detail if a Shiny Tynamo is available for Pokémon GO's Spotlight Hour event.

Is There A Shiny Tynamo In Pokémon GO?

Unfortunately, there isn't a Shiny Tynamo available during the upcoming Spotlight Hour event in Pokémon GO. Instead, you'll only be able to encounter and catch this pocket monster in its Normal form, which will appear more frequently in wild encounters.

The Spotlight Hour event will start on 24th January 2023 between 6 pm and 7 pm local time. During this time, you'll have one hour to catch as many Tynamo as possible and gain Candy, which can evolve Tynamo to Eelektrik (25 Candies) and Eelektross (100 Candies).

If you want to acquire as many Tynamo as possible to evolve it, you can utilize Incense or the Magnetic Lure Module. When activated at a PokéStop, the latter will attract Electric, Rock, and Steel-type Pokémon to your location.

As disappointing as it may be that there's no Shiny Tynamo available, you can still add the Pokémon to your inventory if you successfully catch it. Standard Poké Ball will be best utilized for your encounters with Tynamo and use various Throws, specifically Nice, Great, Excellent, and Great Curveball Throws, which count towards January's Field Research progression.

Furthermore, use various Berries, which can make your efforts in catching Tynamo easier before it could zap you with its Spark Fast Attack. For example, Razz Berries will prevent Tynamo from breaking free of the Poké Ball when attempting to catch it, and Nanab Berries will slow its movement.

As the Tynamo Spotlight Hour comes with an event bonus of double Candy when catching Pokémon, you can use Pinap Berries to boost the Candy received if the next catching attempt is successful. Don't forget that all event bonuses will be active for an hour for Tynamo's Spotlight Hour event.
