Clash Royale Season 18: Release date, time and what to expect

What we know so far about Clash Royale Season 18, including the release date, time and possible content to look forward to.
Clash Royale Season 18: Release date, time and what to expect

With Clash Royale Season 17 we got some great balance changes, a new Pass Royale and more. However, we didn't get any new cards, while in Season 16, we got two new cards to play with. Now, we look towards the future, with the Clash Royale Season 18 release date, time, and what you can expect from Supercell.

Clash Royale Season 18: Release date & time

Clash Royale Season 18's release date and time are 7th December at 07:00 GMT judging by the Pass Royale countdown.  A new season of Clash Royale normally kicks off soon after the previous season completes, with no more than a few hours in-between seasons.

There will likely be some server downtime as Supercell gets the new Pass Royale ready. With that being said, the release date for Clash Royale Season 18 is confirmed as 7th December 2020.

Pass Royale & Balance Changes

The Pass Royale for Season 18 should release on 7th December as well since there have never been days between Pass Royale offerings.

It is expected that the Pass Royale or the entire Season 18 theme for Clash Royale could have a festive feeling to it, possibly a new arena, and some great shop discounts. After all, the next season releases during the festive season, so it would make a lot of sense.

The Pass Royale will feature a free and Elite version, as always, with the latter requiring players to open their wallets for some great rewards. Clash Royale Season 18's Pass Royale should include a new tower skin, possibly some emotes, as well as benefits including the following for the paid version:

  • Unlimited re-entries and continues for Special Challenges
  • Automatic chest unlocking
  • Strikes for all Pass Royale & Crown Chests
  • An exclusive Pass Royale golden name
  • Gifts for all Clanmates

At the time of writing, Supercell has not yet confirmed the theme for Clash Royale Season 18, nor if there will be a new card. Since we haven't had a new card in Season 17, it is likely the developer will add something to shake up the metagame.

Judging by the past seasons, you can also expect some balance changes with Clash Royale Season 18.

Balance changes should release a few days after Season 18 releases, as the balance patch almost never drops on the same day as the new season kicks off.
