What is Global Offensive Mobile? Release date and CS:GO similarities

There's a new game currently in closed beta called Global Offensive Mobile, and it is quite possibly the most blatant CS:GO clone thus far.
What is Global Offensive Mobile? Release date and CS:GO similarities

When a game is as popular as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) there's bound to be some clones out there. They say imitating is the sincerest form of flattery but one has to ask if Global Offensive Mobile goes a bit too far.

Here's what we know so far about Global Offensive Mobile, which anyone should be able to tell unless you got hit by a flashbang.

Global Offensive Mobile: How to play & release date

Global Offensive Mobile is developed and published by a gaming studio from Thailand called "Cheese WT"

The game is currently in beta, with tests taking place according to their social media accounts. The most recent beta test is already full and ends on 18th February.

To play Global Offensive Mobile, you will need to follow their Facebook page and check when participation in the next beta becomes available.

There's no exact release date for Global Offensive Mobile just yet but it is expected to release sometime in 2021. Check the game's Google PlayStore page for availability in your region.

The video above showcases the Inferno map gameplay, which should be familiar to any CS:GO fan out there.

Global Offensive Mobile vs CS:GO similarities

Global Offensive Mobile could be mistaken for an official CS:GO mobile version, but it definitely isn't. This isn't a project supported by Valve, at all.

However, there are extreme similarities between Global Offensive Mobile and CS:GO. From weapon skins, to iconic CS:GO maps such as Inferno and Dust II being recreated, as well as all the weapons.

The game does look pretty as it is being made in the Unity engine. However, most aspects are so close to CS:GO, with even the "go go go" tagline being used.

A description of Global Offensive Mobile's game mode reads: "Bomb Mode Divide players into 2 sides, red team and blue team. The red team had a player carrying grenades. Install the grenade in the designated location. Destroy the enemy's strategic points or kill all enemies.

"The blue team must interrupt the enemy and install bombs. Either defuse the bomb after it is installed Or kill all enemies When the time is up The red team cannot successfully mount a bomb, the blue team wins."

Instead of using Terrorists or Counter-Terrorists like in CS:GO, the teams are simply named Red and Blue. However, everything else seems extremely similar.

The only real differences we can spot is one new map, new skins and different characters.

At the time of writing, Valve has not publically mentioned Global Offensive Mobile. It remains to be seen if Valve will step in against this clear clone of CS:GO.
