Will Counter-Strike 2 Have 128 Tick Rate Server? Answered

After years of speculation and anticipation, Valve has officially announced Counter-Strike 2. Thankfully, the game developers have made significant changes to the game's tick rate system to provide a more seamless experience to the shooters. If you weren't aware, one of the most important factors that affect the gameplay experience is the tick rate.

The tick rate is the frequency at which the game server updates the information about the game world and sends it to the players. In Counter-Strike, the default tick rate is 64 ticks per second. This means that the game server updates the game world 64 times per second and sends this information to the players. But that's not the case anymore. Let us explain more about it.

Counter-Strike 2 won't have 128 tick rate servers, and the game devs have officially confirmed it. But thanks to Counter-Strike 2’s sub-tick update, tick rate no longer matters for moving, shooting, or throwing.

As we all know, sub-tick updates are the heart of Counter-Strike 2. Previously, the server only evaluated the world in discrete time intervals (called ticks).

Thanks to Counter-Strike 2’s sub-tick update architecture, servers know the exact instant that motion starts, a shot is fired, or a ‘nade is thrown.

As a result, regardless of tick rate, your moving and shooting will be equally responsive, and your grenades will always land the same way.

Overall, the new CS2 servers are going to be even better than before. They will now record every action you take, like firing your weapon, jumping, and peeking around corners, with great accuracy.

Valve says that the tick rate won't matter anymore, meaning the game will be very responsive and accurate. With the new technology, the server will capture and analyze every move you make.

So there you have it. That's everything you need to know about the tick rate updates in Counter-Strike 2.
