Destiny 2: Light the Way guide

Destiny 2 Season of the Lost continues this week as guardians traverse deep into the shattered realm yet again in search of the lost techeun. Interestingly, there's also a new Ascendant mystery triumph to solve called Light the Way that requires players to investigate the debris field.

The Light the Way triumph is a bit longer than most investigation triumphs players encounter in Season of the Lost and can be a bit tricky to follow, especially since the game doesn't do much to guide players in a  specific direction. With that said, here's a step by step guide to how to complete the Light the Way triumph in Destiny 2.

How to Complete the Light the Way Guide

After aligning the first two beacons, players need to head towards the area where they first found a field of strife for the Impactor Cache triumph. From here on, head right to invoke a true sight. Traversing the temporarily formed platforms will take players to the area with a tall glowing object that is actually on fire, courtesy of an enemy called Soulfire Exarch. The Soulfire Exarch will drop a ball of flame, and picking it up will guide players towards a nearby cave. Make sure to suppress the nearby field of strife to make traversing a lot easier.

Once players have deposited the ball of fire in the cave and lit the path, five portals will appear. Taking the fourth one from the left will take players to the designated location, whereas taking the others will take them nowhere. In the next area, players will come face to face with yet another Soulfire Exarch though taking it down won't drop a ball of fire. Players will simply need to bring the one they deposited in the cave and repeat the process until it's over. Collect the chest nearby to complete a trivial mystery and take the portal on the left to return to the cave.

From here on, carry the ball of fire and take the fourth portal from the left yet again to reach the next area. Depositing it will open up two new portals here, and taking the middle one will take players to the next designated area.

In here, players will meet yet another Soulfire Exarch, and by this time, the loop should be clear to most. Simply take it out and use the portal to arrive in the cave again to carry the ball of fire and use the previously traversed portals to the third area. Depositing it will open up two new portals, and using the one on the far right (or left) will take players to the fourth area.

Here, players will come across another Soulfire Exarch alongside two wizards that are easy to take out. Using the nearby portal and repeating the aforementioned steps will open up two new portals. Taking the one on the right will take players to the fifth area. So far, the order of portals is four, two, three and two.

The fifth area is where players aligned the second beacon. Another Soulfire Exarch respawns, beyond which lies one last portal to the final area. This time around, the Soulfire Exarch drops a ball of fire so players won't have to go all the way to the first area.

The sixth and the final area doesn't offer any foe or obstacles that are too difficult to overcome. Traverse the tower and invoke true sight to reach the final Soulfire Exarch enemy. Take it out and loot the nearby chest to complete the Light The Way ascendant mystery triumph.
