Destiny 2: The Witch Queen is nearly upon us, and here’s all you need to know about it before its launch.
Destiny 2: The Witch Queen - Release date, trailer, pre-order, and more

Destiny 2's longest season, Season of the Lost, is reaching its conclusion as The Witch Queen expansion release date draws near. Like past Destiny 2 expansions, The Witch Queen comes bundled with a new campaign, new location, new enemy type, and many more interesting additions that should excite both long-term fans and newcomers hoping to hop into the Destiny hype train.

According to Bungie, The Witch Queen campaign will be the most definitive Destiny campaign ever. While it is not yet clear what exactly this means, it seems, The Witch Queen will not feature the straightforward point A to point B campaign missions like in the past Destiny expansions but something that aligns more with Destiny's more illustrious set of content like raids and dungeons. In short, The Witch Queen expansion seems to dig deeper into Destiny's veins, and here's a few things you need to know about it before it launches.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen release date and story

Destiny 2 The Witch Queen launches on 22nd February 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. While Bungie has revealed plenty of juicy details about what The Witch Queen expansion has to offer, it surprisingly hasn't given fans a detailed look at the new location - Savathûn’s Throne World, the new weapon type - Glaive, and the new crafting system.

The three trailers revealed so far set the story and premise for The Witch Queen, showcasing Savathûn’s enemy forces called Lucent Brood of Hive Lightbearers in action that wields similar powers to that of Guardians. The trailers also glimpse the pale yellowish Savathûn’s Throne World brimming with swamps and gothic architecture.

Bungie also recently confirmed the release date of The Witch Queen Raid (currently unnamed). As has always been the case, the latest Destiny 2 raid launches on the 5th of March 2022, ten days after the launch of The Witch Queen expansion.
