Best Spirit Ashes (Summons) In Elden Ring

The world of The Lands Between is riddled with formidable and challenging enemies and bosses that can intimidate and overwhelm players. Even when you're the most equipped or untrained warrior, the slightest mistake or mistimed attack can determine life and death, but there is a way to combat this.

Often under-utilized, Spirit Ashes imitate various enemies and allies found through The Lands Between as they can aid you in combat, but what are the best to use in-game? Well. We've got you covered as we've listed the best Spirit Ashes and where to find them in Elden Ring.

What Are The Best Spirit Ashes In Elden Ring?

Spirit Ashes are one of the most underutilized combat items in Elden Ring, but they can help turn the tides, especially when playing solo. This summons can be called into battle using the Spirit Calling Bell you'll receive from Ranni the Witch, but deciding which to get can be difficult.

Several Spirit Ashes can be found throughout The Lands Between, but if you want to be proficient in battle, these five Spirit Ashes may serve you well, Tarnished. We'll be taking a look at the best five Spirit Ashes you can get in Elden Ring:

Latenna the Albinauric Spirit Ash:

This Spirit Ash is one of the most effective AoE summons, as it can eliminate enemies within a vast arena. Luckily for Tarnished Ones, Latenna mostly remains stationary in her summoning position once on the battlefield, she'll immediately start launching waves of damage-dealing arrows, but she does have reasonably low HP.

Getting this Spirit Ash is tricky as you'll need to locate the NPC at the Slumbering Wolf's Shack at Lirnia of the Lakes towards the end of the Lakeside Crystal Cave. However, you'll need half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion for Latenna to be friendly towards you before becoming a Spirit and acquiring her Spirit Ashes.

Lhutel the Headless Spirit Ash:

One of the most tank-like summons in Elden Ring, Lhutel the Headless comes with a strong shield and robust armor that makes penetrating her shield near impossible. Additionally, she has a spear to launch toward enemies for AoE damage, making this summon the hardest to strike.

As she can absorb as much damage as she can deal, finding this Spirit Ash is easy, as you'll need to locate the Tombsward Catacombs in the Weeping Peninsula. You'll need to clear the dungeon and defeat an optional miniboss for it to drop this Spirit Ashes.

Banished Knight Oleg Spirit Ash:

Summoning Oleg, the Banished Knight, in battle can serve you well as it's the best early-game summons to find. As you can continue using Oleg for most of your journey, this brawling Spirit Ash will lure enemies to its presence with its high Poise stat and heavy armor.

Like with Latenna the Albinauric, Oleg deals considerable AoE damage due to its wind attacks and can break enemy stances. Head to the Stranded Graveyard Site of Grace and use two Stonesword Keys to be led into the Fringefolk Hero's Grave dungeon before defeating the Ulcerated Tree Spirit to receive the Spirit Ash.

Black Knife Tiche Spirit Ash:

This Black knife assassin is a powerful summon that does well against single-targeted enemies. This Spirit Ash can avoid enemy attacks and damage making it harder for enemies to attack or inflict damage on her.

She can significantly reduce enemy HP, primarily as her blade is enhanced with the Rune of Death, but you'll have difficulty getting this Spirit Ash. Travel southwest of Liurnia of the Lakes, head to the Moonlight Altar plateau, find the Ringleader's Evergaol and defeat Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader, to get this summon.

Mimic Tear Spirit Ash:

The most powerful and best Spirit Ashes to get in Elden Ring lets you summon a duplicate of yourself, copying all stats, armor, weapons, spells, and more. The Mimic Tear Spirit Ash can inflict significant damage, which can be helpful against more challenging enemies and bosses.

Summoning the Mimic Tear will consume half your HP, so having a few healing potions and elixirs on hand will mitigate HP's loss. Should you progress with Ranni's questline, it will lead you to Nokron, Eternal City, where you'll need to find Night's Sacred Ground.

Travel to the southwest section of this location, where you'll find the fogged wall, which requires one Stonesword Key to unlock. There will be an enemy here, but it should give you much trouble as you can raid a chest in this room to pick up the Spirit Ash.
