Where to get the Mimic Tear Ashes in Elden Ring

The Mimic Tear Ashes allows players to call a clone of themselves, which costs your health. Here's where to find the summon in Elden Ring.
Where to get the Mimic Tear Ashes in Elden Ring

During the opening stage of Elden Ring, players will be granted the ability to use Spirit Ash summons after meeting Ranni/Renna at the Church of Elleh. Not only does she gift you the first Spirit Ash summon, but a Spirit Calling Bell alongside the summon.

Later in the game, you will meet with the witch, where you'll need to complete her questline, which involves defeating a major boss. It's during this questline that you'll be able to add another Spirit Ash summon, the Mimic Tear.

This guide will explain more about the summon and where to find it in Elden Ring.

What is the Mimic Tear Ashes in Elden Ring?

The Mimic Tear Ashes is Elden Ring's most unique summons, as it will come at the cost of your health, not your Focus Points (FP). Using this summon allows the summoner to generate a clone of themself on the battlefield.

It's worth having an extra Flask of Crimson Tears with the Mimic Tear Ashes as it costs 660 HP when summoned. As such, it is highly durable and inflicts plenty of damage, making it worth acquiring to help you tackle the game's main boss battles.

Where to find the Mimic Tear Ashes in Elden Ring?

The Mimic Tear Ashes are rather hard to get, as you will have to progress further with Ranni's questline to where you'll take on the next boss, Starscourge Radhan, at Redmane castle in Caelid.

After defeating Radhan, a meteor will crash land in an area nearby; specifically, you'll need to locate the Fort Haight Site of Grace to visit the crash site.

Arriving at this Site of Grace, the star crash had significantly changed the surrounding area; however, it does grant you access to Nokron, Eternal City. Head to the Eternal City, where you will encounter a Mimic Tear boss, where defeating it will allow you to continue exploring the city for the summon.

You will need to locate the Ancestral Woods Site of Grace by travelling down the bridge and leaping off where the left side of the bridge has collapsed. The Site of Grace is hidden around the edge of a cliff, near some ancient buildings.

Jump across to a nearby rooftop and walk across the ledge to reach the Night's Sacred Ground area, where you can drop down and encounter some low-level enemies. Next, cross the chapel's courtyard to the left and make your way across the ledge to reach another chapel courtyard.

Enter the chapel on the right, where you'll find a golden sealed door that requires a Stonesward Key to advance. This will unlock the door where you'll enter a room and a mini-boss you must battle.

Once the mini-boss has been defeated, find the chest nearby containing the Mimic Tear Ashes. Additionally, there is a Smithing Stone in one of the room's corners to pick up before you continue to explore Nokron and complete Ranni/Renna's questline.
