Genshin Impact The Chasm – How to activate the mechanisms

Exploring The Chasm and its surrounding areas during various World Quests grants Travelers valuable insight into the history and events in this cavernous location. Additionally, it introduces new types of materials, unlocks new mechanisms and gadgets that will guide you through your journey underground.

During The Heavenly Stone’s Debris World Quest, there are a set of mechanisms that you need to activate; however, you are stuck by a mysterious substance. This guide details where you can find these mechanisms and how to activate them in Genshin Impact.

Where to find The Chasm mechanisms in Genshin Impact?

Locating the mechanism is one of the objectives for The Heavenly Stone’s Debris World Quest. As part of The Chasm World Quest Series, The Chasm Delvers, Travelers will be tasked with activating three sets of mechanisms found south of Stony Halls' main mining area.

Due to a slimy purple substance called Oozing Concretions, these mechanisms have been out of operation. So, followingly, you'll need to use the Lumenstone Adjuvant gadget to eliminate the Oozing Concretions encasing the mechanisms.

If you cannot remove the substance surrounding the mechanisms, you may need to level up the gadget to a Level 2 and higher. This requires Lumenspar and Lumenstone Ore, both blue-coloured materials found in the Underground Mines of The Chasm.

Once you have enough Lumenspar and Lumenstone Ore, visit Jinwu to upgrade the Lumenstone Adjuvant gadget, for which you’ll need the Blooming Light effect for the quest. Jinwu can be found at the Ad-Hoc Main Tunnel at the Underground Mines of The Chasm.

How to activate The Chasm mechanisms in Genshin Impact?

With the gadget upgraded, you can turn your attention to locating the three mechanisms and clearing them from the Oozing Concretions. Activating the mechanisms requires Travelers to recover the gadget’s energy by collecting blue energy orbs to recharge the totems found nearby.

The first mechanism is located in the middle of Stony Halls, southwest of the Teleporter marker, with the remaining mechanisms not far from this location.

Once you have enough energy, stand close to the first pillar to recharge it before activating the mechanism. Watch your step as the Oozing Concretions can deplete the gadget’s energy meter.

The second pillar is west of the first mechanism, and once again, you need to collect enough Lumenstone Adjuvant energy to dispel the Oozing Concretions and activate the mechanism.

Some energy orbs are at the bottom of a cliff not far from the second mechanism; however, you can activate the second mechanism after recharging the pillar. This will summon a Hydro Abyss Herald enemy in the area you need to defeat.

The third mechanism is located southeast of the last pillar with some energy orbs in an adjacent chamber. Again, offensive slime enemies will attack after removing the Oozing Concretions from the mechanism.

Once the enemies are defeated, recharge the gadget and activate the mechanism, which a cutscene will play after that. More enemies spawn in this location as defeating them will allow you to conclude The Heavenly Stone’s Debris World Quest.
