Genshin Impact’s 2.3 update gave a lot to talk about during its run, as players continue to complete the challenges it brought with it, and await the arrival of both Gorou and Arataki Itto to Inazuma.
However, this is not the only thing that has been in the focus of the community, as we had great reveals about everything that came to the game, as part of the 2.4 update of miHoYo’s RPG.
We have already reviewed the new characters and weapons coming, as well as most of the events we will enjoy during this cycle, so now it’s time to discover everything about a new region debuting in Teyvat.
Everything we know about Enkanomiya
The appearance of the Enkanomiya archipelago is something that was rumoured for a long time, however, there weren’t as many indications until now about what we can find in this mysterious place.
Enkanomiya has a great relevance within the lore of the game, being the place from which the people of Watatsumi Island emerged, who have continued practising the traditions of this place through generations.
As such, the Enkanomiya region isn't part of the main Teyvat map, but instead has its own section within the game’s map, much like the Golden Apple Archipelago from the 1.6 update.
The main difference in this region comes with the fact that it won’t be available temporarily, but will be accessible to all players from now on, since the missions added in it will have a permanent effect on Watatsumi Island.
To access Enkanomiya you must have reached the Adventure Rank 30 or above, and completed the Archon Quest "Chapter II: Act III - Omnipresence Over Mortals", and the World Quests "The Still Water's Flow" and "The Moon-Bathed Deep", which will allow you to discover and break a series of seals distributed throughout Watatsumi Island, in order to obtain a special key forged from the blood of the Watatsumi’s Omikami.
All the enemies you will find in Enkanomiya
With the appearance of Enkanomiya on the map, new enemies have also arrived to threaten the peace within Genshin Impact, with the debut of three new classes of opponents, which we will talk about below:
Abyss Lector: Fathomless Flames
First, we have to start with one of the most prominent and dangerous that we will see in this update, the Abyss Lector: Fathomless Flames.
This is a monster of the Abyss Order who sings of the warmth of the dark flames, thanks to the power of his marvellous Pyro attacks, which apply the brand of the abyssal flame when they deal DMG to characters.
These brands will explode after a short while, causing the whole party to lose large amounts of HP, however, the appropriate Elemental Reactions may be used to neutralize the Burning status.
The Abyss Lector: Fathomless Flame will have a similarity with the Pyro Whooperflower, as it will enter a state where it’s defended by a shield of abyssal fire once you attack it enough time. You can destroy its shield by attacking its Darkfire Furnace.
New Elemental Specters
Next, let’s talk about the Specters. As we learned during the 2.1 update, these enemies are commonly found on both Seirai Island and Watatsumi Island, being floating lifeforms born from highly-concentrated elements.
While we have already seen Specters with Anemo, Geo and Hydro affinities, the 2.4 update will introduce three more types of Specters into the game, being these the Cryo, Electro, and Pyro ones.
As with other Specters, these ones will also have their own unique effects, but every single of them will build Fury when they take a single grievous hit. When they hit maximum Fury, they will expand, becoming larger and stronger, and then explode violently when defeated.
Introducing the Bathysmal Vishaps
These intimidating lookalike dragons will exclusively appear in Enkanomiya, living beneath the oceanic abyss. Besides, some of these have also developed different Elemental forms, as a result of labour division in society.
There are three kinds of Bathysmal Vishaps you will find in your travel:
- Primordial Bathysmal Vishaps (Hydro)
- Rimebiter Bathysmal Vishaps (Cryo)
- Bolteater Bathysmal Vishaps (Electro)
Despite their different affinities, all of them will have a singular effect that makes them hard to deal with, as whenever you attack them, it will use its powerful Cleansing Shower.
All your characters hit by this attack will lose a certain amount of Elemental Energy per second, and if they don’t have sufficient Elemental Energy, they will start losing HP.
Their arrival will be accompanied by a limited-time event, with which you will get valuable rewards if you manage to defeat all of them.
And that’s all we have to share with you about Enkanomiya, its mysteries, and some of the threats you will find in this new region to be added to the game.
