God of War Ragnarok: How To Find The Real Tyr

If you're looking for the real Tyr in God of War Ragnarok, you have come to the right place! Know where is the real Tyr and how to find it.
God of War Ragnarok: How To Find The Real Tyr

God of War Ragnarok has one of the most compelling stories seen not only in a God of War game but in video games as a whole. There are so many twists and surprises in this story that it is hard to keep track of them all! One such reveal happens after the game ends (consider this your spoiler warning). At the end of the game, it is revealed that Tyr was actually Odin in disguise. Odin had used his godly powers to spy on Kratos for the entire game!

So, that begs the question - how to find the real Tyr in God of War Ragnarok? This article will cover the location of the real Tyr and the small accompanying puzzle that players will need to complete to access his location.

Players can start searching for the real Tyr after they beat the game, so first, make sure you have fully cleared all the mainline story missions. Once the main quest is complete, follow these instructions to find the real Tyr.

  • Travel to Niflheim.
  • Go past the blacksmith into a newly opened area (Asgardian Prison).
  • This should trigger the quest "The Broken Prison."
  • Enter the prison, take out any enemies you find, and make your way down to the bottom using your chains.
  • Eliminate the enemies on the bottom floor and head back to the second level.
  • Move the beam furthest away into the middle level.
  • Use the nearest beam to move up a level, and use the chain to move the previous beam to the bottom level.
  • Jump back down using the final beam and then move that beam to the bottom as well.
  • Jump down into the bottom area where Tyr's cell is.

This sidequest is a little complicated but relatively straightforward forward, all things considered. Check out this YouTube video by AFGuidesHD for a visual representation of what needs to be done.

After he is found, Tyr and Kratos will have a brief conversation before you go your separate ways. The Lore codex will be updated to include the real Tyr, and Kratos will receive some XP for his trouble.

There are also a few collectibles scattered throughout the prison, so make sure to survey the land thoroughly and grab everything you can!
