Halo Infinite: Where to find and how to use the Threat Sensor

Halo Infinite players will encounter several unique weapons and equipment during their time on the Zeta Halo map that will take time to understand and master. One of these unique equipment items is the Threat Sensor that’s proven to be useful when locating enemy players in Halo Infinite’s multiplayer.

While players were first introduced to the sensor to defeat an enemy boss in one of the game’s campaign missions, it can also be useful in disabling an enemy’s cloaking mechanic. In this guide, we detail what players need to know about the Threat Sensor, where you can acquire it and how to use the sensor in Halo Infinite’s multiplayer.

What is the threat sensor in Halo Infinite?

The Threat Sensor is a piece of tactical equipment used for detecting enemies within an area. While the equipment’s range is quite limited, it does provide useful information on where your enemies are located so that players are always a few steps ahead of them.

The Threat Sensor scans through walls and buildings for which its scan has a duration of eight seconds and a cooldown of five seconds. Even so, the sensor can be upgraded, using Spartan cores, to alter its abilities like duration and cooldown.

As such, players can only hold up to four threat sensors at a time but where can players find a threat sensor in Halo Infinite?

Players can find a Threat Sensor by looting a fallen soldier or by locating an Equipment Dispenser which can be found in a specific spot on the map. Speaking of maps, players can find a threat sensor on four maps in Halo Infinite's multiplayer.

  • Launch Site
  • Fragmentation
  • Highpower
  • Deadlock

How to use the threat sensor in Halo Infinite?

Players will need to use the key or button mapped to access your Equipment to activate the Threat Sensor. This is the “Q” key on PC and the Right Bumper on your Xbox One controller.

This piece of equipment can be best utilised if players are flying solo defending a base or running watch over your flag. Additionally, there are a few challenges within the game’s multiplayer that require players to use the Threat Sensor to earn XP towards Halo Infinite's battle pass.

There are several uses for the Threat Sensor, other than throwing it on the ground. The sensor can be thrown against a vehicle which, when driven around, players can easily check zones around the map.

Players can also attach the equipment to teammates to reveal larger portions of the map. This can be extremely beneficial when locating enemies in the match to give your squad an early advantage.

While the Threat Sensor is just as fun to use, it can be easily destroyed by enemy players. All it takes is a few rounds from your pistol to completely disable the sensor.

However, if players stick the sensor against walls, and not on the ground, enemy players will have a harder time getting rid of it. Also, players can throw the sensor against enemy players as they will have trouble removing it unless they get eliminated.

And that is everything you need to know about the Threat Sensor, where players can find one and how to best use the sensor during multiplayer matches.
