Thor Love and Thunder - Trailer, release date, actors and characters

After an intense fight with Thanos, the Avenger Thor sets out to find his true self on what he believes will be a peaceful adventure. The new Marvel movie Thor: Love and Thunder will be arriving at the beginning of summer.

With loads of action and highly-renowned actors, the new Thor movie will once again bring together a strong cast of Marvel characters in the fourth instalment. The official trailer boasts several recognizable actors and Marvel characters that will surely be a delight on screen. 

Thor: Love and Thunder release date

The official release date for Thor: Love and Thunder will be on 8th July 2022. Originally, the movie was set to release on 5th November 2022, but it was delayed as Marvel Studios wanted to reshoot scenes and fix some of the visual effects.

Though a delay usually means a better product, it can affect the timeline of releases for other Marvel movies and shows.

First Thor: Love and Thunder trailer

Though it’s a shorter teaser, the first official trailer highlights a lot of key moments for the movie and reveals several characters to the audience.

The trailer reveals to us that Thor will be getting help from the Guardians of the Galaxy in this new Thor instalment along with the help of alternate Thors from the multiverse. One of these alternate Thors is revealed to be Natalie Portman who played Jane Foster in the previous movies.

Thor: Love and Thunder - All confirmed actors and characters

There are several confirmed actors that will be in Thor: Love and Thunder, some who return from previous Marvel movies while others are new to the series. Like all the recent Marvel movies, there is a large cast of notable and recognizable actors.

• Chris Hemsworth - The Avenger Thor returns as the protagonist of the film is on a search for love and purpose.
• Natalie Portman - Jane Foster makes a new appearance as The Mighty Thor.
• Christian Bale - Featured as the villain, Gorr the God Butcher will be a destructive force who will force Thor to team up with others.
• Chris Pratt - Peter Quill from the Guardians of the Galaxy returns to help Thor through his next adventure.
• Bradley Cooper - Rocket of the Guardians of the Galaxy will also make an appearance.
• Karen Gillan - The adopted daughter of Thanos, Nebula returns from the Guardians of the Galaxy.
• Taika Waititi - Korg returns from Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame to aid Thor on his journey.
• Matt Damon - An Actor Loki on New Asgard returning from Thor: Ragnarok.
• Vin Diesel - Groot returns with the other Guardians of the Galaxy.
• Russel Crowe - Zeus, the Greek God of Thunder will be a participant in Thor: Love and Thunder.
• Tessa Thomson - King Valkyrie of New Asgard returns from Thor: Ragnarok.
• Melissa Macarthy - An Actor Hela on New Asgard.
• Sam Neill - An Actor Odin on New Asgard.
• Pom Klementieff - Mantis returns with the other Guardians of the Galaxy.
• Jaimie Alexander - Sif the Asgardian warrior is back from Thor: The Dark World.
• Luke Hemsworth - Rumored to be another alternate Thor to help defeat Gorr.
• Sean Gunn - Kraglin returns from the Guardians of the Galaxy.

These are all the confirmed actors at the moment, but as we saw in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel can be sneaky about which actors and characters they reveal to the audience.
